In what appears to be an attempt to convince the world that it's ready to play with the big boys when it comes to military prowess, Iran unveiled the Qaher-313, a "super jet" with "state-of-the-art" technologies and "radar-evading" capabilities.
The only problem? It's totally, completely, fake. And now it comes with a fake photoshopped background, too.

That thing has very short wings, takeoff and landing speed must be very high.

IMHO...
The Canard doesn't have enought span or chord to be effective.
The thick wing which looks like a Clark Y Airfoil must have more Drag than a barn door, not to mention a Span Loading not worth a darn since their is no Span.
You could teach Boy Scout some basic Aerodynamics and they would come up with a better Planform with a good Mentor helping them...

The light reflects of the (fake) planes surface in the picture, so much for stealth technology, if the light reflects of the surface, so will a radar signal! Stealth BS
What a joke!

Fundamentals of stealth:
1. Size
2. Shape
3. Apertures
4. Material/coating
5. Treatments
Can’t do much about #1, but #2, and #3 seem to fail, as does (from other pictures) #5
Cant tell on #4 but highly suspect.
Looks to be at least a 6 or 8 spike design. IR signature probably high just based on observation.

exactly what I was thinking, and what is that downward angle at the end of the wings supposed to accomplish?

exactly what I was thinking, and what is that downward angle at the end of the wings supposed to accomplish?Trying to reduce vortices and copy the Boeing "Bird of Prey" which was a kludge if you read up on how it flew. They don't need it for yaw control, since they have vertical fins...
This thing is just a hot mess....

I thought it said ‘as a plastic-made aircraft’ not plywood. As a plastic plane, it might be shot from a giant slingshot, and could be ‘stealthy’. [Ha ha sarcasm]
However, they do learn propaganda from the Old Soviets .... it's just that nowadays it is hard to fool the foreigners. But I suspect the ‘news’ is for domestic consumption, nationalism etc.

The real question is who is this supposed to fool? The western world knows this thing is a fake, no other military is worried about ever seeing it in combat, I doubt much of the Iranian population believes the propoganda any more than the North Koreans. Does Achmedinnerjacket set up these photo ops (shops) to convince the Mullahs who are really in charge that he is a competent front man?

From the pictures of the instrument panel, it seems they found a nice 8-Track cassette player to mount at the top.

My ‘76 Ford F-150 is a stealth truck, too. You’ve never seen it flying, HAVE you? Hmmm, thought not.
To: taildragger
The only reason they chose this design is magic carpets are not stealthy and it’s difficult to mount weapons pods.

Depends on how you transcribe it. These people are nuts.

...as long as you keep the “spinner rims” off of it and properly stow the hydraulics.

From the pictures of the instrument panel, it seems they found a nice 8-Track cassette player to mount at the top. They got the same designer who made the props for the Iron Eagle movies. Muhammed can rock the skies to bad 80's music. I'm guessing he's listening to Culture Club in Farsi.

“The spinners are like chaff - they confuse the radar.”
Only if they fall off, like when cornering really sharp to avoid a missile - which tends to stay locked onto the rim rolling down the highway, while the F150 ambles on in a cloud of IR-obscuring blue smoke.

I can’t wait until next week when Press TV releases footage of this amazing plane bombing Tel Aviv while shooting down F-16s.

I was thinking more along the lines of the F-117’s approach - the radar signals are reflected elsewhere instead of back to the source, thus making it “invisible”.
Speaking of the 117... aerodynamically it was impossible for it to fly, too, without the widgetry that constantly adjusted the wings, etc, while in flight.
