... no armed drones will be permitted in U.S. airspace ... There you have it - a promise from the 0bama administration that should alleviate all fears! So why all the hysteria? Hasn't he fulfilled all of his promises???

Jim Williams of the FAA is one voice of good government in this case, as contrasted with other, more hysterical voices in government (and other political groups) that have perpetuated much of the panic. As for the privacy violations, those should be dealt with. Williams said that the FAA can’t do anything about those.
Our freedoms should be respected and defended—not violated. Good government is necessary. We’ve been seeing too much government by hysteria.

So the FAA now trumps Homeland Security, DOD, NSA and Justice Dep’t? Glad to hear it.

The good thing is that the drones are going to be flown by the local Sheriff's SWAT teams!
On a related topic, guess who quit smoking yesterday? Answer: Christopher Dorner

I recall having seen a report recently that spoke of drones being used by us to patrol the Canadian border.Presumably they aren’t armed for if they were the Canadians would probably raise a big stink (understandably so). It’s still a bit spooky though even assuming they aren’t armed.

Q: If the FAA were to file bankruptcy and close down, how many flights would be cancelled?
A: None.

I think youre misunderstanding the statement. It means that YOU arent allowed to fly armed drones. The govt can do whatever they want b/c...theyre the govt.

An official with the Federal Aviation Administration reassured the public Wednesday that no armed drones will be permitted in U.S. airspace,Well since we know how 0's admin is so truthful that settles the matter.

You might want to review what happened to aviation during the controllers strike in the 1980’s.

Like the frigging FAA is gonna know anything about it. The stealth Predator C Avenger operating in any FAA "controlled" airspace says they won't. Boom! One AGM 114N thermobaric HMF impacts the target out of nowhere. All the FLEAs have to do is tape off the crime scene clean up the debris and announce that the domestic terrorist lit off his own IED.

An official of the Obama regime “assures” us there’ll be no armed drones over the United States.
Funny, I’m just not getting that warm-and-fuzzy that he’s telling the truth. Now, what would cause such doubt... hmmmmm...

FAA official: No armed drones in U.S. They left off the last word in the FAA "Offical's" statement. The full version should read: FAA official: No armed drones in U.S. Today

So, nobody trains on these drones in the US with live ordnance? They’re not put through any testing in any US airspace? Bull-doody.
