When questioned by a reporter aboard Air Force One about the optics of President Obama vacationing in Palm Beach this weekend, White House principal deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said Obama deserves some time off.
"The president is going to enjoy the Presidents' Day weekend with some friends," Earnest said

Must be nice to jet around the country and the world on taxpayer funded vacations & 3-day weekends.
Choom gang reunion?
Obama’s people love it. If they were prezzy, that’s what they be doin’. Livin’ large and gettin’ over on da man.
Who was that person that dared ask such a question? That person shall be excluded from any future WH events, (and given an audit by the IRS as a parting prize).
Maybe Rush will let him stay in his guest house.
The $20 million figure is based on estimates of the cost of the four Hawaii vacations the Obamas have taken during Christmastime 2009-2012. According to a detailed breakdown by the Hawaii Reporter, the annual excursions in 2009, 2010, and 2011 cost about $4 million, much of it attributable to the expense of taking Air Force One, at an hour rate of about $180,000, on an eighteen-hour roundtrip journey to Honolulu and back.
But $4 million almost certainly underestimates the true tally, as it does not include many miscellaneous items like the cost of flying advance teams out to Hawaii and separate flights Michelle Obama took in 2010 and 2011, when she left ahead of her husband, who was forced to stay in Washington to finish up work with Congress.
This year, Obama returned from Hawaii to complete a deal on the Fiscal Cliff and then jetted back to Honolulu, where he is now engaged in Part 2 of his vacation. The second roundtrip flight added about $3.24 million to the tab this time, bringing the cost of the 2012-1013 vacation to well over $7 million.
I don’t get this whole vacation thing.
Presidents take more vacation in one term than most Americans take in 20 years.
They don’t need that much vacation. Especially for what we pay them.
Instead of West Palm Beach, I think he should go on a cruise.
I wish politicians would take more vacations, in fact, I would suggest them taking a permanent vacation.
Indeed! The last time I could afford a vacation Dubya was in office. Why am I subsidizing an office holder who presumably serves at the will of the people to live like royalty off the backs of the people? If they want vacations let them cover costs of their transportation and security too. That's what the other rich and famous folks do.
I'd like to see the next conservative candidate for president put no taxpayer funded vacations on his platform.
I can recommend a cruise line or two. /thought police unapproved
If he’s going to spend a “holiday” weekend somewhere, he should pick a holiday that everybody has off, like Memorial day, not some Federal only holiday like President’s Day. But I have mixed emotions: Any day the President is out of DC is a good day.
That SOTU thingy pooped him out!
Heh. I wonder what this fag would do if all the crappers died at once?
Besides, we can't expect President Obama to actually wait until spring before taking spring break.
Exactly right. However, the pay is minuscule in comparison the the extravagant daily life the first family lives. Every day is a vacation for these grifters. They each have large staffs for personal and professional needs. Their meals are prepared by a vast kitchen staff, drivers and security at the snap of a finger. Their staff does all their shopping for clothes, groceries, personal. Moochie has a personal hairdresser and manicurist. What the hell do they need to get away from?
Where should I post it?
