WEST LIBERTY, W.Va.—Students and parents are questioning a college professor after she reportedly issued a syllabus that filtered student’s research options

The syllabus tells students in a West Liberty University political science course what sources they can and cannot use.

Among those students are asked not to use are The Onion, an openly fictitious parody of real-life news, and Fox News, a professional news organization.

In the syllabus, the professor allegedly says, "The tagline Fox News makes me cringe."

"One of our values at West Liberty is to encourage students to go out and inquire and gather information and look at as many different sources as possible on any side, before you reach your opinion," said Robin Capehart, president of West Liberty University.

Idiots. Any professor worth anything knows that research is divided into two categories.

Primary Sources. Secondary Sources. Good papers use primary sources first.

They should continue to put the spotlight on idiocy and hypocrisy like this. As Alinski said “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon”.

West “Liberty” University eh?

I’m sure she doesn’t cringe when she hears “pay your FAIR share” and “a BALANCED approach”.

What a moron.

The faggots of academia cannot stand for any diversity of opinion. Filtered, sanitized, leftwing propaganda is the only thing they can stomach in their classrooms.

This is an interesting story from several aspects. She isn’t a regular instructor. She is filling in for a guy who is taking a couple of months off for personal reasons (health or family related). So the university (which is a very small university with only 2,700 students) operates with 151 total instructors...went out and hired a “temp” to fill his spot.

I can only imagine that someone on the support staff (not a instructor) came up with her name and convinced the school to hire her. My gut feeling is that she’s not from West Virginia. She is on strictly a one-year contract.

The President of the university has been readily accessible and admits that they are reviewing the situation. He is under fire from not only from the media, but from students and parents of students. I’m guessing that this professor will make it through the semester and find little relief for the next semester...a limited number of students to take her courses.

The end result? She won’t be retained past the one-year point, and quietly moves on. She’s attracted too much negative attention for a small school. My only question....what did she do before this? It would be curious to know that question.

Going through the comments at the link is more educational than the story itself. I am certain that comments by several of the repeat posters are friends or intimates of the stupid female teacher, or may even be alter egos of the woman herself.

It’s standard op’s for the left. Didn’t West Virginia go big for Romney? This slug of a professor is probably well aware of her students natural views and is working hard to change them....

You would that at an esteemed Ivy League institution like West Liberty University that the high achieving students would not need their mommy and daddy to file complaints about a syllabus.

“You would that at”

Not sure of your syntax. Was your intention to write, “You would THINK that at”?

“their mommy and daddy” usually pay the bills. That is the quickest way to get a university administrator’s attention.

Students seem to be protesting about something all the time. Parents far less often.

I guess this Pol Sci prof hasn’t figured out yet that Fox News is quite liberal now....and that The Onion has more accurate news than PMSNBC

Friend’s son was attending a Northern Virginia university and had to write a paper. Despite turning in a well documented and researched product, he was denied an “A” because the teacher disagreed with his conclusion. He revised the paper to reflect the professor’s opinion and resubmitted it, receiving an “A”. This is what our schools have become, massive propaganda machines programming the next generation. No wonder the government wants everyone to have a higher education despite many getting worthless degrees and graduating with a debt handicap. It promotes “sameness of thought” and government dependence, especially since the government took over the student loan program.

I had a Black female boss for a while. She came into the break-room and turned off FOX and went to MSNBC and said, “I absolutely forbid FOX News in my break-room”. After she left, I changed it back. Someone told me she wanted to know who did it and that she was on the warpath. I went to her and “fessed up” and she told me that it wouldn’t happen again. I asked her to kindly make it part of a written policy to ensure the whole staff knew about this “rule”. She hated me until the day she left (probably still does), but she backed off.

Young minds need to be protected at all times from opposition to state sanctioned views. Less they leave indelible impressions on our young.

[This is further proof the Left could not make coherent arguments, and thus use this as last resort.]

Leftists can’t ever operate in the open.
They hate being pinned down or exposed because at that point, they’re defeated.
