Even the Pope’s humble retirement decision had them in a frenzy. They don’t understand God’s will, they understand deception. This was an opportunity to create headlines with needless adjectives such as “scandal” “pedophile” and quitting. You don’t see those those headlines about homosexuals, who are their noble protected group. Like I’ve said before, you would never know it from the deceptive media, but sexual abuse was no more prevalent in the Catholic church, than in any other organization. Now it is less so.
They don’t go after other churches, mosques, temples, schools, etc, not because human sin is less prevalent, it is because they are less relevant in the battle for truth. It’s ok, know who wins this war.

The Church releases a document about Scripture? Yeah, but what about those pedophiles?

No, we want the news media to report on the event in an objective, knowledgable, respectful way. One could have reached this conclusion had one read the source article.
I see no that communistic ideas are more pervasive than we’d like or like to admit.
Does the Church exist only to give to the poor until there’s nothing left? I never could see the logic.
But, logically, if one family, person or institution has money, do others Have to be so concerned?
If the Church, now, were employing ornamental plasterers, stained glass artists and techs, marble workers or if our ton and lined that He provied for us? Does it take away from someone else? Perhaps if our culture had any regard for such, maybe we wouldn’t be seeing the ugliness of appearance of architecture, fashion, etc. which is so depressing.
Maybe we’d have more regard for God. When I go to Mass, I see most people wearing (most) faded jeans. I always bring my mind back to the ‘60s and imagine ANYONE arriving to Mass in anything but a dress or jacket and tie and it never ceases to floor me. In my darkest days of having no money really at all I didn’t dream of going to Mass in jeans.
God is there. How could I not dress up? I asked Him for money - no one else is going to give it to me. I need a lot of money to get me and our family from here to retirement. No one I know has that kind of money. The Church sure doesn’t. Not if they did that for everyone. I asked Him for a job, actually, and I got one - a good one. It took a lot longer than I wanted, got what I needed.
Many in the Church take vows of poverty but there is nothing morally wrong with having a lot of money.
I guess I’m one of the only ones who has known a number of wealthy Catholics whose generosity of spirit, material, time, effort and attention is and was great. I was never that impressed with the selfishness of some of the poor people I’ve known some of whom are so in love with money that their jealousy is deep and ugly. Where does that get them?
Going to Mass just about anywhere outside of the Euro influenced style of the Northeast is like sitting in the back of a rocketship. Perhaps the ugliness around us aids in our forgetting about God - and that’s a big problem in our culture.
What’s wrong with giving God back the beauty of refined bronze, marble, gold, lined and silk even cotton, that He provided for us?
When one is in Church, during a service, focusing on God is important. Seeing stained glass of images devoted to holy people of the past, Biblical situations with the sun coming through helps that. It gives the poor something to which to strive and help themselves out of a situation.
Only gold can be used in placing the Eucharist or Precious Blood. That gold has no value other than that. We don’t place That into just any glass or pot metal. The parishoners pay for that. Even the poor ones who want to have a place of beauty to go to where they are always welcomed and assisted.
Fine statue and marble statues bring us to the situation. The Pieta just sits in St. Peter’s. It’s unfortunately behind glass now since it was attacked. It is hundreds of years old. Some materialistic people might look at it and think it’s just a lot of glitz, I suppose, but that’s pretty cynical.
But the facial features on just that piece, tells on that Michaelangelo spent his time on that. As did all the guys who put those beautiful basilicas together. They’re not doing that now. Taking food stamps and playing xbox might be better replaced with taking parishoners’ money and putting something constructive back, as it was when these places were put together.
In those days parishoners supported those efforts.
The Irish women raised the money for St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NY during and after the No Irish Need Apply culture. And they got their children to and through educational institutions. No government money.
If you’ve been to New York and you haven’t seen St. Pat’s, why not?
wE were visiting Normandy and St. Therese’s nearby in Lisieux. We visited St. Mere Eglise, where Captain Winters, Sgt Lipton and their Band of Brothers of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles landed on Jun 6,1944, and we went into the church in the town square.
It was stripped of statues, pews and any hint of opulence OR occupation. Looking up, I saw the stained glass windows. It was beautiful. After they had been blown out by the Germans during 1944 and before, the local French people, instead of going to the UN and screeching about the injustice of having their Church partly destroyed by the enemy, as is more fitting, now, the townspeople rebuilt it.
The stained glass was replaced beautifully with new stained galss. The images were free hand drawn images of parachutes coming down from above. They took the time to honor our troops and to remind parishoners to pray for them.
Did a quick survey just now. Over 10% of the posts are Roman Catholic spam. Mostly complaining about how misunderstood they feel.

Not being Catholic, I would just insert “Christian” where he sticks in Catholic. Not all people who profess to be Christians are Christians.
The fact that this godless MSM hates the position of the Church, the Body of Christ, is indicative that the Church is on the right path. Once official persecution of the Church gets into full swing, the goats will be separated from the sheep, casting off the dead weight of the posers, and true revival will occur, IMHO.
That is what happens to people who don’t keep their focus on God. The world decieves them. Just pray for them and stay focused, they hated, accused, and misunderstood Him too. :)
