Swedish photographer Paul Hansen won the 2012 World Press Photo award Friday for newspaper Dagens Nyheter with a picture of two Palestinian children killed in an Israeli missile strike being carried to their funeral.

The picture shows a group of men marching the dead bodies through a narrow street in Gaza City. The victims, a brother and sister, are wrapped in white cloth with only their faces showing.

Hansen's Nov. 20 shot won top prize in both the spot news single photograph category and the overall competition. It portrays 2-year-old Suhaib Hijazi and her 3-year-old brother Muhammad, who were killed when their house was destroyed by the Israeli attack. They are being carried by grieving uncles, as their father Fouad was also killed, and his body can be seen in the background of the picture. The children's mother, whose name was not provided, was in intensive care.

Must have been a b*tch, getting the strobes set just right for that kind of tone rich light, not to mention the time it took to Photoshop in the other visual effects.

Something I noticed is that there are only men mourners, no women or children allowed. Also the only name they couldn’t get for the story was that of the mother, the only survivor.

Hamas fires hundreds of rockets into Israel, then gets upset when Israel fires back - Hamas is really stupid as they evidently can't see the connection between their attacks and getting hit back.

The photos of all the Israeli children killed by Gazans have been suppressed this year; after a brief hiatus during the post-World War II years, anti-Semitism is back in fashion.

Hamas is a paid noisemaker. Their purpose is to evoke a response from Israel so that the dictators of the Middle East can use pictures like the one above to gin up hatred of Israel (and the U.S.). This distracts the unwashed masses from their own slavery to corrupt regimes. Hamas knows exactly what they are doing and have the support of most of the world in doing it.

After the horrible way the Palis and other Arabs have indoctrinated their children, killing them is pretty much the only way to deal with them.

I've found that one of the most difficult things in the Bible to deal with as a Christian is explaining why God would order the Israelites to wipe out entire peoples down to the last child, even their animals. It's hard to imagine that the loving God of grace would do such a thing. But when you see stories like you linked to it makes you wonder if that explains parts of the Old Testament.
