Fact: Despite 22 international drug regulatory warnings on psychiatric drugs citing effects of mania, hostility, violence and even homicidal ideation, and dozens of high profile school shootings/killings tied to psychiatric drug use, there has yet to be a federal investigation on the link between psychiatric drugs and acts of senseless violence.

Interestingly the brilliant folks in Hollywood are releasing a new movie called Side Effects (or something like that) that explores that very subject.

Since people are no longer capable of drawing their own conclusions TV and Movies may have an effect.

Liberal drug users don’t want to discuss it period. It’s the bat-shit libs that are marching into schools and firing on students not conservatives or Republicans but they dont want to talk about that either. It’s obvious they need help and should be locked up per their own guidelines and way of thinking by big gubment who is their friend.

Listen very closely to the Enbrel advert. And this from a drug that isn’t primarily for psychiatric use.

Cymbalta is another.

You are absolutely correct.

Back in my day if you had a behavior problem you either got a good paddling at home by Dad (we did have them back then) or a spanking or switching by mom. The attitude problem was quickly fixed after several episodes.

Today, the kids are not disciplined in any form and simply doped up so they don’t cause problems. Only problem is that when they grow up they (1) don’t obey the rules of society and (2) live in a foggy world of half make-believe and reality.

I would guess that more than 90% of all mass shootings were done by people who were drugged throughout their lives in lieu of actual punishment.

However, everything is moot for the real effort is to disarm the law abiding citizens so that the communists can trash the Constitution and enslave the citizens in any propagandized manner they can.

Saw Side Effects yesterday. Actually it turns out the drugs WEREN’T causing the problem but were being blamed for the effects. Don’t want to give it away but it’s an okay movie. Mara Rooney does a good job as usual and keeps the movie from being boring.

That is the way big brother wants you, zoned out on mood stabilizer and chomping at the bit for the next episode of American “Idle” or Real Housewives... that way you don’t see what the hand behind the curtain is doing.

Nah... can't say things to hurt the kid's feelings. He has to be integrated into the school population as if he is exactly the same and not being medicated.

Sooooo..all the rest of the kids in the school are vulnerable and get to be targets! Sociologists can be heroes with the parents of children who need more attention and assistance than pill popping...??

I am sorry, but having it both ways is usually wrong and in this case... it's VERY wrong.

None of this is fair to the others and to the parents of the children who are vulnerable. Parents of children who are not being medicated ought to get a chance to keep their children OUT of that school or at least, they should be notified when the medicated kid is interacting with the whole population.

It’s not hard to find out that this organization was founded by the Church of Scientology. The blaming of senseless violence on psychiatric drugs makes as much sense as blaming it on guns.

Phew. Happy to see it only took 11 replies for someone to expose this for the nonsense it (mostly) is.

"It’s not hard to find out that this organization was founded by the Church of Scientology. The blaming of senseless violence on psychiatric drugs makes as much sense as blaming it on guns."

I’m thinking your statement is pure bunk because I have been unable to find any evidence that guns operate by changing the effects of chemicals in the brain such as these psychiatric drugs do. You seem to try and attack the messenger rather than deal with the facts and then precede to oddly equate behavioral issues in humans to inanimate objects. FAIL!

Fox and FR used to report on these. BlamingSenselessViolence

“SSRIs quite literally just “mess with your head,” specifically interfering with the function of a common messenger molecule (serotonin), one of thousands of others, whose purpose and broad significance to brain function in general is only vaguely understood, and whose particular significance to depression is completely unknown. Consider this 2010 article in New Scientist, emphasizing how recent research has only emphasized our ignorance:

-If you thought depression was caused by low serotonin levels, think again. It looks as if the brain chemistry of a depressed person is much more complex, with mounting evidence suggesting that too much serotonin in some brain regions is to blame.-

The most sophisticated method known for even measuring serotonin levels in the brain — never mind understanding the significance of these measurements — is to grind up a piece of brain, spin it in a centrifuge, and measure the sum total of serotonin relative to other substances. And how about our ability to measure the amount of serotonin in any given synapse at any time? Exactly zero. Yet the marketing of these drugs would have us believe that they are extremely specific in their effects. It is simply not so.”

A Public Health Problem of Epidemic Proportions

"There is a grave concern among advocates that adverse reactions are greatly underestimated by the public, the medical profession, and the regulatory authorities. Each of these stories in our list can be interpreted as an adverse reaction and in most cases we have highlighted the portion of the article that refers to evidence of bizarre behavioral change consistent with drug reaction. In some stories causation is acknowledged and the juxtaposition of these stories with those where it goes unrecognized as well as the repetition of themes and circumstances is chilling. If indeed medications played a significant role in all these tragedies, then this is a public health problem of epidemic proportions on a global scale."

Something almost NO ONE is talking about.

I've seen plenty of discussion of the fact that many of these spree killers are on antidepressants and other psychiatric medication.

Most of the discussion hasn't been coming from the front group of a sue-happy, conspiracy-mongering, UFO nut-cult that views the psychiatric profession as its chief competition.
