EDITORIAL: Huddled masses in retirement Elderly immigrants are becoming wards of the state
The Washington Times ^ | Feb 15, 2013 | Editorial

Entitlement spending and immigration are two issues that threaten America’s financial future. The two controversies meet in the case of the newly arrived elderly, many of whom have discovered they can cash in on an overly generous welfare system.

The scam is simple. Senior immigrants typically live with their foreign-born adult children who already have gained their U.S. citizenship. After five years of green-card status, the parents can apply for citizenship. From 2000 through 2011, about a million persons aged 60 or over were granted citizenship, accounting for about 13 percent of total naturalizations.

Often, the immigrant children are highly educated and quite well off, living in upscale homes and driving expensive cars. Their elderly parents’ standard of living is often well above that of most Americans, thanks to their children’s hard-earned success.

The only factor considered is income, and language and distance barriers render it nearly impossible for U.S. authorities to verify whether they have income in their home country.

Medicaid for recent, elderly immigrants is practically a given. They frequently take advantage of Section 8 housing benefits, which can provide an extra place to stay on weekends after keeping an eye on the grandkids during the weekdays. Elderly immigrants crowd waiting lists for Section 8 housing to the extent that the lists get closed to new applicants, resulting in a particularly perverse outcome: Many of those shut out are genuinely poor.

Immigrants from the sub-continent and Asia are a big segment of these benefit hogs. When you go on open houses in N. County San Diego, you find a lot of homes set up for three generations. Even though the working family is well off and living in a $million house they get Medicare and SS for their parents...who split the time between here and India.

Statement: "... Huddled masses in retirement Elderly immigrants are becoming wards of the state." Response: Of course.

Comment: Another consequence of the Euroamericans abdication of their right to govern. The ongoing conquest of our country by "Third World" vermin entitles them to a sack of American accumulated wealth. A later consequence shall be the abject poverty of Americans in their own country.

Chain immigration---a horrific result of amnesty. All the old folks back home---- plus the extended family---- will be here, gorging on US benefits.

No question, salivating, vote-crazed US politicians are making deals w/ Third World countries (for yes votes on amnesty).

These impoverished countries have cunningly determined that amnestizing their pressure groups on US soil forces vote-crazed US politicians to handover zillions in foreign aid.

=================================================

The financial benefits to be derived from amnesty are huge--establishing a permanent Dem majority of Third World "pressure groups" exchanging votes at the ballot box for foreign aid.

IMPOVERISHED THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES W/ PRESSURE GROUPS IN THE US (here illegally): Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico (stateside), Salvador, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela.

Pero, pero..los Estados Unidos del Norte es un paradisio! Mira, if you get sick, just go to la Sala de Emergencia. Los Doctores will give you better medical care than you can get anywhere in Mexico. And, the best part is, it costs nothing! Los Gavachos Estupidos pay for it all!

And if your bebe is born in EUdN, you can sign him up for el Welfare. And every month, los Gavachos Estupidos will send you un Cheque!

All los Gavachos Estupidos ask for in exchange, is that every two years, you cast la Vota for the Democrats.

An elderly man was telling me that his wife had worked full time her entire life as a sales clerk and was drawing only around $300 in ss.

Their son married a Russian woman whose mother brought her disabled son along. They got their green cards and the mother is drawing over $600 a month for herself and more than that per month for her disabled son. All medical included too.

So, the elderly American woman worked her whole life to make sure immigrants could live in America better than she can.

The coming collapse is preplanned and will be celebrated by those in charge and all those who hate us- and depend on us.

I was reading about the “maternity hotels” that California has for Chinese to produce anchor babies. Another financial drag.

This retirement in the USA scam has been going on for years and biggest are the Chinese. Bringing elderly mom and dad here to retire in (relative luxury) and also do some baby sitting. These elderly will also get very nice disability (SSI) from Social Security system they never paid a dime into

An outrage that no one cares about because Americans lack pride. 30 years ago a prominent Japanese business executive said “America is a entertainment nation” and was right

Maybe a few people should point out that Germany has solved their expensive retirment problem for aged people needing nursing care - THEY MOVE THEM TO CHECH REPUBLIC or some other poorer country.

We like a BBC show called "New Tricks" it's about old cops solving cold cases - even there they say that the national health solution for "old guys" is to tell them, "you are to old for those drugs." They guys then talk about how what they (NHS) really mean is - "go home and die." That is on a cop show.

Are they referring to immigrants from India or Asia?

Michael Savage tells about a Medicade laundering clinic in view of his studio where elderly Chinese get treated all day . . . some driving up in luxury cars. How many are being treated for real or imagined ailments, it is tough to say. But the clinic bills the government in real money and the local authorities know all about the scam but look the other way.

Here in NoVA, it is primarily Asian families that are exploiting the system.

Where I work, there are a lot of Russian immigrants, obviously recent, don’t speak English, etc. I see lots of little old elderly Russian ladies hobbling around, in their babushkas and support stockings. Obviously they are not desirable immigrants, there is no benefit to us for them being here. They must have been brought in, legally or illegally, by family members, and no doubt we’re supporting them. It’s just insane...we can’t go on like this. We can’t take in the world.

Obviously they are not desirable immigrants, there is no benefit to us for them being here.

Unfortunately, we have a kinship based immigration system not a merit based one. We also allow legal immigrants to sponsor their relatives, including aged parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, etc. to come to this country thru chain migration, i.e., family reunification. One Nigerian immigrant sponsored 83 of his relatives.

Immigration to America is not a right but a privilege. And our immigration policies should serve the best interests of this nation.

“An elderly man was telling me that his wife had worked full time her entire life as a sales clerk and was drawing only around $300 in ss.”

I believe it. They figure the benefit based only on the last few years of work. My last few years I was very ill and also I took care of my elderly parents, a friend dying with a brain tumor and two sick twin grandbabies...I lost everything I’d paid in for the previous 45 years..went to work when I was 11.

Thanks, but it’s all good...I knew better than to depend on the government for anything. But it sure chaps my.... when I see an elderly illegal alien getting big bucks on SSI or cash.
Not so much anger at the alien, but our shortsighted corrupt lawmakers. There’s going to be many people who retired early to take care of parents/spouses only to find out they’ve lost their benefits..I was sure shocked!

No lie......I saw these buildings 20+ years ago even ...this scam has been going on >>>>

You go to China Town in Manhattan and you will see multiple tall high rises at least 12 stories high that are elderly housing built by the Federal Govt and the Chinese community in cooperation. One of these joint ventures for affordable elderly housing that churches also do and even a Jewish community center near me does. I promise you that no more than 50% of the Chinese elderly living there have a long work history or any work history in America where they paid into the SS Medicaid etc systems.

IOW at least half came here to retire (sponsored by their children, and they must be legal immigrants to get in on this racket)without ever having paid in like you and I have

I call this THE RETIRE IN AMERICA FOR FREE SCAM
