Olympic Arms Halts Sales to New York Law Enforcement ( Boycott N.Y. ! )

Firearm manufacturer Olympic Arms announced that they will no longer sell to New York law enforcement in protest of the gun control laws recently passed there.

“Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States, ignoring such SCOTUS rulings as District of Columbia v. Heller — 554, U.S. 570 of 2008, McDonald v. Chicago — 561 U.S. 3025 of 2010, and specifically the case of United States v. Miller — 307 U.S. 174 of 1939.”

“Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity — will no longer be served as customers.”

“In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York — henceforth and until such legislation is repealed, and an apology made to the good people of the State of New York and the American people.”

They’re really taking it to the government of New York. This follows a similar statement from LaRue Tactical announcing that they will not sell to any local or state law enforcement agencies while gun control legislation is being considered.

We interviewed Tom Spithaler of Olympic Arms at SHOT Show this year, and based on that interview, we’re not totally surprised about this new policy.(video at link)

Olympic Arms and LaRue Tactical are not alone. Extreme Firepower Inc, Templar Custom and York Arms have also thumbed their nose at gun control and are halting some or all of their sales to government agencies.

“Now to get Glock, SIG, and Smith& Wesson to boycott NY as well.”

And for Remington to move its 1100 jobs out of NY to a free state.

They won't lose a single penny either, with a demand this high.

Yep. They surely can’t be concerned about a loss of profits, considering the rate at which Americans are buying.

I think every freedom loving American would willingly pay an extra $20 per gun to help them move to a free state.

According to Olympic Arms' website, they have completely sold out of receivers and other major components for 1911's and AR-15's, with the latter having an 8-10 month backlog because of demand. Sounds like they'll be just fine without NY's business.

One tactic that might work (assuming that mail is delivered) is to inundate Bloomberg and Cuomo with millions of letters. Something like:
“Your actions to turn law-abiding citizens into criminals for not doing what you want makes it unwise to visit. I will spend my tourist dollars elsewhere.”

A couple of million letters might just bring their monkey business to a halt. I would go even farther than the gun companies. I’m in favor of refusing to do ANY business with NY companies, including the stock exchange.

I’m sure they could cut production costs by moving from NY. It is almost as unfriendly to business as it is to guns and gun owners.

Heck. They move to a business friendly state, they'll be able to pass on the savings to the customers.

Why bid on govt contracts when you can get full price in the open market.
There are many states who will give incentives to manufacturers who move..actually any manufacturer should consider moving out of those states who take such unpredictable political action against manufacturer’s and consumers.

Olympic Arms, LaRue Tactical, Extreme Firepower Inc, Templar Custom, and York Arms have dropped NY as a customer according to the article. Anyone else so far?

I would like to see all ammo and weapons manufactures with factories in the Northeast move to states more receptive to the Second Amendment.
