SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(Ammoland.com)- Smith & Wesson is an American company with a 160-year history that is woven into the fabric of this great nation.
We are proud to employ more than 1,600 people who manufacture our products right here in America. We are a strong and proud supporter of the U.S. Constitution and its amendments, particularly the Second Amendment and the rights that it affords U.S. citizens.
We support a comprehensive approach to preventing violence in our communities and a thorough evaluation of the challenges we face. However, like you, we do not support an erosion of fundamental rights in the process.
If you share this view, join with us and our law-abiding customers as we stand up and make our voices heard. This issue affects each of us, so please do not delay in letting your elected officials know that you value your rights, and they should as well.

I had pretty much decided to go 9mm over .40 cal, but had not come up with a differentiating factor between the two 9's. Reviews from friends who own them like both.
Time for S & W to move out of the Peoples Republic of Mass.
Civil Rights? I like it, I like it.. Time to beat upon the regime and their media employees for their attack on our Civil Rights!
Yes, they should move to Texas.
I own two S&W M&P 15 rifles. They are excellent firearms. More importantly, S&W has great customer service. They pay for shipping and repair your firearm for free, should you have a problem with it. I had a bolt problem with my first rifle. They sent my a fedex shipping label. After 14 days, I got it back with a new bolt and a new barrel (a problem I did not even know about). That rifle has been perfect ever since. My second rifle has 500 rounds through it and it shoots like a dream. S&W has learned from its mistakes in the past, and under new ownership, it is 100% pro second amendment. Good business or them. A move to Texas or some other gun rights state, will be even better business for them.
Springfield has a habit of letting great companies go broke, no support, and let them go onto the dust heap of history.
Duryea Autos, Indian Motorcycles, and Gee Bee Aircraft....
Could S & W be next? Perhaps....
I have a SW M&P 40c. It is a nice little pistol that carries a pretty good punch. I have a full sized M&P 40, so the caliber was a no brainer.
No, no, no! Three generations of my family have worked there. It’s the only thing left in Springfield.
I understand you sentiments, but why should a company stay where it isn’t wanted?
Yes, they should move to Texas.
Here in North Montgomery County Texas are growing exponentially. We are North of Houston.
Conroe city council would offer real estate tax abatement and encourage jobs to move to a no income state tax and right to work state.
They would be a fool not to move.
Hey Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston are great recreationally and living on the lake is awesome plus plenty of other cowboy things like shooting and hunting.
Get your U-Haul, you all. The fourth generation can still work for S & W in Texas.
I’m a S&W fan, so I’m glad to see this, but will they take the next step like some others and shut down sales to NY gov agencies, or will they play it “safe?”
Many citizens are denied their "Right" to bear arms due to financial considerations. It's time for a tax credit for "first gun" purchases.
Cool, they would have been there during the Daniel B. Wesson and Carl Helstrom days.
I know that you and your family members are good people. However, the majority of folks in the Northeast have become somewhat hostile to gun rights. Mass and other states will not get the message until they feel it economically. If your state is anti-gun, don’t be surprised if some of your manufacturers go where they would be welcomed with open arms.
Most of the major gun manufacturers are still in the Northeast — something that goes back to before the Civil War. However, if things continue as they are, the gun makers will be moving south or out west.
I’m waiting to see if S&W is serious enough to cut off New York like the other five companies.
I like it - I used it to send another email to my Reps. It also added the Governor, Obama and Biden to the recipient list.
I have my doubts about that. The elites control the lawmaking, and the threshhold for passage isn't "support," but "absence of serious opposition."
If you get out of the Boston area it’s really not that bad. In fact Amherst, where they fly the UN flag is pretty much a shall issue town, where most other areas the Police Chiefs are a-holes.
I am not sure where a firearm is made is relevant? Texas has enough jobs..we are losing ours every day.
