Cheaper Than Dirt just made the largest single contribution to the Second Amendment Foundation and first Diamond Level donation of $100,000. The Second Amendment Foundation is pretty happy about this.
The level of support from CheaperThanDirt both delighted and shocked me, said Second Amendment Foundation director Ray Carter. SAF has never before received a single donation of this size and by itself Cheaper Than Dirts contribution will make possible a major expansion of SAF legal action and education efforts. We are privileged to consider Cheaper Than Dirt a partner in our efforts.
Created in response to the generous donation from Cheaper Than Dirt, the Diamond level of sponsorship indicates the highest level of support for SAFs continued efforts to restore firearms rights one lawsuit at a time, as SAF founder Alan Gottlieb explains it.
This will come as a surprise to many people who hold Cheaper Than Dirt in another light: a company that capitalized on the recent nation-wide gun-buying spree by inflating prices many times over what their pre-panic levels were.
They also suspended online firearm sales without explanation. Later, Cheaper Than Dirt released a statement that their ordering process was overwhelmed by the number of purchases people were making and that they needed to re-vamp their systems.
Still, the damage was done and Cheaper Than Dirt will have to work hard to un-tarnish their reputation. Clearly theyve found a higher purpose for their panic-driven gains. This donation will mend a few fences for sure.

Too late. They used to be cheap, but for the past few years, they’ve been as expensive as pretty much everyone else. Waaaay more expensive than dirt.
An honest apology would be good.
In the old days, this was called buying indulgences. I doubt this will get them into heaven.
That’s great. They are selling and AR 15 for only $3,895.
This gun went for $1000 back in December.
CTD crapped in their nest and now they’re trying to buy their way out of it.
bless me father for I have sinned...
it is a start,
as saint Ronaldus Magnus said “trust but verify”
deeds not money talks.
The way they responded to an Obama BOO tells me that my money can be better spent elsewhere. They could have reviewed their sales policy off line, instead of reacting on line. No more money to companies that fold like lawnchairs when faced with emotional pressure.
They were expensive to begin with then they jacked their prices to levels even the losers on gunbroker and armslist wouldn't ask.
The won't ever get another penny from me.
“The won’t ever get another penny from me.”
The Dirt Cheapskates won’t get another dime from me. I don’t even check them for prices on anything anymore. The can go to the same hell waiting to receive Obie and his gungrabbin’ POS’s in the Senate, and especially along with those Dims in NY, MO, MN...etc. They are all evil.
