... Witham Field in nearby Stuart ...

Palm City, Stuart and Witham field are all within a mile of each other. This imperial travesty unfolded in the heart of Richie Rich Florida, just north of Palm Beach. I hope they're getting the message.

Wouldn’t be a prob for the F-22.

Why not? The maximum speed (in level flight) for the Cessna 152 is about 120 mph. Cruising speed is about 100 mph. Stall speed is about 60 mph.

I don't know what the stall speed for the F-22 is, but I'd bet big money that it's well above even the max speed of the Cessna. Potentially, the Raptor pilot might try some tricks like sitting on his tail while letting his aircraft stay aloft on mostly thrust, but the aircraft is not happy doing that for more than a very short time.

Could you by chance be thinking of the not yet operational F-35B? It is a VSTOL aircraft. It should be able to slow fly, but at the cost of enormous fuel usage.

Some of Barry's boyfriends are dead...it's the price you pay for screwing around with “fame.” Folks can google for further info...interesting reading.

What you refer to as tricks is what I had in mind.

The Raptor is a fantastic aircraft, best in the world at what it does. The problem with it is that we didn't build nearly enough of them, and now the assembly line has been torn down which means the expense of starting it back up would likely preclude any more ever being built. Sad.

Had we continued building it, the unit cost would presumably have come down.

Something else to blame on this administration.

Been a terrible weekend for golf as yesterday the winds were about 20 with gusts higher then last night it turned cold. About 40 right now at 6:30. Good luck playing golf in that.
And I was sweeping the pool when I heard one of the F-16s come screaming up then caught up to the C-150 and then throw in the speed break and stop on a dime at which time the other jet came swinging in from the ocean side.
I knew immediately what was going on and said I’m glad that wasn’t me as the pilot is in for a gub mint colonoscopy.
