Organizers say they know the gun collections are just a drop into the bucket but they're hoping to save lives. "People who are coming out are people who realize we're not trying take away their 2nd amendment. We're just trying to make it safe for our children and grandchildren who to live at home with grandparents... Or documented or registered the right way."

Also in front of the church were people offering to buy the guns off of people before they reached the buyback event. No word if anyone sold their guns.

The guns turned into the buyback will be destroyed by the Cincinnati Police Department.

There is video at the site. The organizers should have invited the buyers inside. Their purchases would have streched the turn in dollars and given more value to people who wanted to get rid of guns, but did not know their value. Win - Win.

Unless, of course, the purpose of the turn in was for propaganda, and not to "get guns off of the street".

Now you know they’ve been instructed by the regime on how to use psychology to get people to cow down and hand ‘em over. I’m sure it’s something like smile and ask nicely...for now.. O’s a master at cowing and bowing down to terrorist elements. He will tell people anything that he thinks they want to hear to get them to acede to his “demands” if he thinks he doesn’t have the upper hand to force them to do what he wants.

So I call BS on the nice tactic; that’s only because he knows there’s a guns in just about every other home in the U.S. and mist likely an arsenal in many of them. We’re dealing with a full-blown dictator in bloom that once he strips the people of their only means of real self-defense will really reveal his true self. Trying to remove him with a bullet wouldn’t work because he would rise up again in 3 days with horns and the full power of Satan coursing through his veins.../s

Criminals NEVER turn their weapons in...go to buy backs...unless they have a non-working piece of crap that they need meth money for...

It has been shown time-and-time again that buy backs do NOT work...just one more propaganda story from the State Run Media to play on emotions...

How many people sell their only weapons in these buyups?
(They are, of course, MOT buybacks as the entities doing the buying had not owned them in the first place).
Citizens who sell their guns are likely selling surplus and/or nonfunctional pieces. Criminals are selling surplus or stolen weapons, perhaps stolen for the purpose of selling them to the entity buying them "back". The city or whoever is running the program is committing something akin to theft when they do not seek out the rightful owners of the stolen weapons among those they purchase. At least they are receiving or are in possession of stolen property.

As noted this is a useless gesture, probably for publicity or to make the congregation feel they have helped to solve a problem. I suspect that most of the weapons turned in were cheap or of very poor quality, and most certainly turned in by already law abiding citizens. I think channeling the funds spent on guns into an inner city youth program would do far more in the long run. As long as there is one gun out there (and there always will be) and an ill or criminal person, there will be a problem. We need to change the attitude of our youth and get away from this killing for disrespect mentality that prevails.

If they aren’t “against” guns, then why are they destroying them?

I go to gun buybacks all the time, where people who no longer need/want a gun sells it to someone who does. These buy backs are called gun shows and the Left hates them, which puts the lie to their initial assertion.

They need better advertising, so there can be a proper gun show outside.

There was no video because this was a staged event and they couldn’t generate even a token crowd. They will probably have the same 42 guns turned in again at the next propaganda meeting.

The cops need to quit selling guns. Then they wouldn’t have to buy them back.

but they're hoping to save lives.

Huh? Can anyone explain how that works? Perhaps their time would be better spent saving lives by protesting outside abortitoriums.

This gun buyback is just an illusion to convince the “sheep”
that our federal keepers are doing all they can to make America “safe”
