“Nothing I’m proposing tonight should increase our deficit by a single dime.”

“Should”? Consciously or not, the president is telling us his State of the Union show is a crock, and he knows it.

LOL! But it makes me think we are finished. How do we change course with the electorate, media, and intelligentsia we have?

Steyn is great.

Highly recommend reading the entire article:

http://www.nationalreview.com/blogs/print/340827

“What’s he on about? The annual “deficit” has been over a trillion for every year of Obama’s presidency. The cumulative deficits have, in fact (to use a quaint expression), increased the national debt by $6 trillion. “

“How do we change course with the electorate, media, and intelligentsia we have?”

By UNITING against the common enemy — those who are trying to destroy the USA from the inside.

If conservatives and Republicans (we all know they are not all the same) would have united against Obama and gotten out the vote, Obama would not have gotten a second term. Romney wasn’t going to be Reagan, but he surely wouldn’t be Obama. Conservatives who stayed home and sulked or voted third party were the ones who reelected Obama.
And the worst is that they never learn — they elected Clinton too by voting for Ross Perot, instead of keeping their eye on the prize.

See my tagline.

What percentage of energy used by my home and business is “wasted”?

The percentage used by my kids.

"Turn those lights off! We're paying for the electricity!"

"Stop running hot water down the drain! We're paying for the water plus the gas to heat it!"

"Don't stand there with the refrigerator and freezer open waiting for enlightenment! If you don't know what you want, leave!"

“Let’s cut in half the energy wasted by our homes and businesses over the next 20 years.” What does that even mean? How would you even know when you’ve accomplished that “goal”? What percentage of energy used by my home and business is “wasted”? In what sense? Who says? Who determines that? Is it 37 percent? Twenty-three percent? So we’re going to cut it down to 18.5 per cent or 11.5 percent by 2033, is that the “goal”?

I have similar questions about how Obamacare was to be paid for by cutting "waste, fraud and abuse"

Unless, of course, Obama just means any resources used by us peasants is wasted.

Here is how Obamacare will be paid for:

The Unsung, But Massive Obamacare Sales Tax Increase That Is On the Way

“...there are a number of new taxes that the ACA will bring - twenty one to be exact - but the sales tax on the purchase of health insurance is by far the largest.”

That’s what dictators and tyrants do, they dictate and terrorize, and obama is no exception. If obama didn’t have a political and media machine to bend to his will, he would probably be one of the homeless living on the streets of chicago, or engaging in jihad in kenya.

I doubt it,
The first requires basic skills and the latter requires some form of courage.
