As Colorado lawmakers get closer to passing a bill that would stringently restrict and regulate the sale and production of high capacity magazines in Colorado, Magpul, with their back against the wall, announced that theyll just move to another state if the bill passes.
The Magpul van parked outside the Colorado statehouse when a spokesman spoke to lawmakers.
Our company [Magpul] could not, in good conscience, continue to manufacture our products in a state where law-abiding citizens are prohibited from purchasing and owning them. Founder, President and CEO of Magpul Industries Richard Fitzpatrick said in a statement. The passage of this bill will do nothing to enhance public safety, but will force us to immediately begin taking our business to another state.
On Feb. 15 the Colorado General Assembly passed an amended version of House Bill 13-1224 in a preliminary vote. The bill would prohibit the sale, transfer or possession of a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds, or more than five shotgun shells. In addition to restricting the ownership of those items, the bill would also heavily regulate the manufacturing or assembly of them. Manufacturers would have to engrave a serial number and date of assembly on magazines with a capacity larger the those previously mentioned.
The amendment added to the bill will exclude manufacturers, retailers that cater to out-of-state customers, and federal and local officials from penalty for possession or transfer of the items. However, civilians who already own high cap mags would also be excluded from penalty just as long as they dont try to sell them. The bill was introduced Feb. 7.

Come on down- NC needs jobs and magazines!
Welcome to Arizona. The home of Tombstone and the OK Corral.
Democrats keep moving to American states for economics then they ruin them! they can GTF back to California!
Texas is the ideal place with one of the largest built-in markets for Magpul’s products. No state income taxes. Generous incentives available to move here.
All RIGHT!! Here is yet ANOTHER company putting our 2nd Amendment FIRST!!!
Probably cheaper there, as well.
We can use them in Wisconsin.
I wouldn’t have a company in a state that doesn’t stand behind the Bill of Rights. Obviously, the politicians in that state put the government first and don’t stand with the people. Come to Arizona!
Governor Perry needs to get on the phone right after passage in Colorado (assuming it passes).
Idaho would be proud to welcome the industry and people of this company.
Better still, a company that looks out for its own financial interest. This bill will dramatically increase the cost of production. They really have no choice.
I wonder if they’ll move the employees, or simply fire everybody and hire new people after they relocate. I think they want to move to Wyoming at the junction of two Interstates (25 and either 80 or 90).
Relocate to Texas. We are a right to work state, the weather is decent (for the most part) and we do LOVE our FREEDOM!
“Relocate to Texas”
And they are more than welcome here-we need the jobs, too. The ones we don’t need here are the escapees from onerous taxes in states like California, who bring their liberal politics with them-let those stay in the states they ruined-we’ve got too many of those people in the cities already...
Wisconson would be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire as your resident nut crew has their own bill underway.
A friend of mine from Texas indicated that Remington Fire Arms is considering a move from NY State to Texas due to the recent unconstitutional law passed there.
And they need to join the growing list of companies that refuse to sell equipment to local agencies in states that prohibit ownership by citizens.
Remington is already in North Carolina. They have been in Ilion N.Y. for a very long time tho.
We need to stop them at the border and check them for Libtard Infestation.
If they have a Union or Obama sticker on their car, turn them back. If they balk, then shoot ‘em!
