You never hear about stuff like this happening a hundred years ago because people refused to discuss it. It was too awful and embarrassing to those involved. But such things did happen.
I understand Robinson Curuso was caught trying to bugger a shipmate and he was not shipwrecked but maroned with just enough to survive. that could be why you didn’t hear of many cases
