WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 (UPI) Convicted terrorist Ramzi Yousef filed a lawsuit seeking release from solitary confinement in a high-security U.S. prison. Yousef, 44, has been in solitary for 15 years and said keeping him there indefinitely despite his good behavior amounted to a violation of his due process. A federal judge is expected to rule soon on whether the lawsuit can go to trial, the Los Angeles Times said Sunday.
Yousef was sentenced to life in prison for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people were killed and more than 1,000 were injured in the blast. He has been locked up since his conviction at the federal supermax prison in Colorado. He is seeking a change in his status that will place him in the general prison population where he can have human contact and more time outside his cell. Yousefs U.S. attorney told the Times the stress of years in solitary has already taken a psychological toll on his client. The lawsuit argues Yousef is being kept in solitary because of his conviction, which he cannot change.
But prison officials maintain Yousef remains a security threat and told him his jihadist leanings could result in communications that could result in harm to others.
Put his lawyer in there with him. Problem solved.
For the physical and mental cruelty he inflicted on us, I hope he hangs himself with his shoelaces.
Fix it immediately! There must be some lonely pigs somewhere that will cuddle up to this disgusting waste of 02.
This dude must be pretty hardcore to have spent 15 years in solitary and not become a potted plant.
You’re just baiting me to try and get me to write what I would do to him. Not playing.
Let him loose in the general population where he can be shanked.
Put a blowup doll in there with him or maybe a soccer ball he can call Wilson
Bury them alive.
The sentence was “life”, right?
I’m not feeling like he has been there long enough.
I don’t think so, just making an observation based on some time spent working in corrections. Solitary makes people go seriously crazy, some faster than others.
He should have been executed and buried in a hog yard.
Rot in hell, murderer.
strap him to an intercontinental ballistic missile and push the button. see he will have a limited solitary confinement and he will get his wish 72 virgins. Where does Allah get all these 72 virgins for the so called Muslim martyrs? (just a note islam/Moslem faith is an aberrant teaching and in fact there would be no 72 Virgins)
Wrap him with C4 and hold the button until he decide not to go ahead with the court action. If he says no push the button.
He is getting his name into the news so the jihadi’s can see how mistreated he is.
They should have executed this man years ago. The muslims will do everyhing they can to free him.
They get TV and all the lawyer visits they can stand.
Lynne stewart could go in there with them. After she is spayed, of course. Don’t want any little jihadis... of course that might not be an issue since I think they keep the lights on all the time in Supermax.
Who wants to give odds on whether zero gives him clemency and orders him released?
That's my take. He'll last as long with that crowd as Jeffery Dahmer did. We can only hope he turns up beaten to death with a pipe and wrapped around a urinal some morning. The muzzies will try to protect him, but the Aryans will get him eventually. He has no clue what fire he's begging to jump into from that frying pan.
So you spent some time in corrections? I believe you, FR’s got folks from all over. OK, tell me, what chance does this guy have in GP? I think they’d kill him in the first year.
And this guy plotted the 1993 WTC bombings— entered the US on an Iraqi passport.
It is incredible that we think the US lacked rationales for attacking Iraq.
Probably not, he’d be converting them to Islam right and left. Maybe in a State Pen with dirty white boys he’d have a problem, but not here.
