Hi there Springman.

I hope Tom is wrong, but that is what the PC Nazis are pushing for.
Arms for thee, but not for me.

The first gun I bought my wife is a K frame six-shooter. She’s very good with it.

Bought her a Ruger LC9 recently but she’s struggling with it. (Racking the slide and being left-handed.)

The darn things are simple and built like tanks.
I should have grabbed one when they were $145 new.

The Sterling 9mm carbine is also a hoot, but has no way of mounting optics.

That and the long DA trigger pull. That is what I have trouble with.

If you get an NRA lifetime membership, will they leave you of the spamathon beggar list?

I haven't completely broken it down yet.

I've only had it out to shoot twice now. The owners manual says disassembly for a thorough cleaning is only required every 3000 rounds. I just swab out the bore and spray her down good with CLP.

Reliability has been 100%. No problems of any kind.

How easy/hard is field stripping a Hi Point 9mm carbine?

New in oil (not grease) Russian Nosin M44 rifles are at Wideners for $219. Really tempted to pick one up while still available, especially since these have never been issued to troops.

Manufacturers converted from .22 to other more profitable calibers during this run.

I took my Hi-Point 995 out of the stock it was in (a CX Storm copy) and put it in one of the original Planet of the Apes stocks. I love it in the retro look. Have you tried the latest 15 round mags? I’m wondering if they function better than the ones available a few years ago. I bought two and had to dremel the daylights out of them to make them work reliably.

Field stripping looks like a pain in the ***.
Screwdriver, crescent wranch, Allen wranch and some other tool.

But the darn thing works like a hose for thousands of rounds

Those are pretty hard to find for the last 2 years.
Be warned, It kicks like a mule on crack.

Get a shoulder pad or limb saver.

Wideners is just a few miles away. The owners do the FFL routine so I can buy from wholesaler at their prices. The last gun show, the M44s I saw were bringing 400 plus and were not ‘unissued’. 7.62 x 54 corrosive is back in stoxck too, in spam cans at $99 /440.

That is most likely the truth.
If you are running 24/7 shifts and you still can’t man all the lines, the .22 is probably first to go by the wayside.
Good observation.

I use a nice thick limbsaver with my 91/30 even from the bench.
