Why Did McCain Rescue Hagel?
The American Spectator ^ | 2.17.13 | Aaron Goldstein

Why did he go on Meet the Press this morning to say that Chuck Hagel was going to get confirmed as Secretary of Defense?

McCain argued that Hagel had the votes to be confirmed and that he didn’t want the process to be delayed further.

Sold out, again? Or, was this planned all along? Or, was this intended as a special poke in the eye to "upstart" Cruz?

They serve as the perfect, incompetent, foils that the Dems need to advance their agenda. This is why Cruz is a fly in “everyone’s” ointment.

My friends, Hagel is not qualified, but he is an honorable American and has my vote, my friend. Ted Cruz is being disagreeable and people will remember that, my friend, my friend, my friend.

Because John McCain is a gentleman, and he knows that the Democrats are gentlemen and they will all work in peace and harmony.

And I truly believe that John McCain believes that baldersash.

Because McCain loves power more than he loves this country.
He is too comfortable in his position.
He is more a Demo-lib than he is a RHINO.

I think the GOP has some offshore betting thing where they place bets based on how no matter what they do, gullible conservatives will vote for them.

The immigration thing paid back 5 to 1, this is less at 2 to 1.

And not one of them has lost yet.

Rejecting Hagel buys us nothing. It would, however, be a good payback.

Same can be asked for the rest of them. They PROVE time and again they want liberalism, so what do the base do? Vote for them and get liberalism.

Then come here and other sites and scream bloody murder....Simple solution would be stop empowering them to do that by voting for liberal candidates in the GOP.

But no. That’d be ‘purist’. Best to just keep doing what fails and complaining about it to each other.
