LEDs dont generate as much heat either.
That’s a misconception. They do not emit much heat in their beam (unlike incandescents, which emit lots of IR). However, the LEDs themselves get very hot. Cool beam, hot chip. I used an LED flashlight for a plumbing project, on for an extended time at moderate brightness, and it got very warm to the touch, unlike a convention flashlight.
But it’s true that LEDs waste far less energy on invisible IR and are thus more efficient, generating far less heat overall.
