“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country,” Rush Limbaugh said Thursday. “To be watching all of this, to have my intelligence – all of us – to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being, is — it just makes me ashamed.”
The conservative radio host’s ire was the result of the sequester, the looming federal spending cuts set to automatically go into effect at the end of this month unless Congress and the White House can reach a deal. He called it “deja vu all over again” and ripped President Barack Obama for keeping himself above the fray and painting himself as a Washington outsider “even though it was his idea.”
“Here we get worked up over $44 billion – that’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year,” Limbaugh said. “And in truth we’re going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We’re just not going to spend as much as projected. It’s all baseline budgeting. There is no real cut below a baseline of zero. There just isn’t. And yet here they come, sucking us in, roping us in. Panic here. Fear there. Crisis. Destruction. No meat inspection. No cops. No teachers. No firefighters. No air traffic control."
“I’m sorry, my days of getting roped into all of this are over. We have the media play along with all of this, the ruling class – both parties – play along with all of this,” he continued. “It’s insulting. I don’t know how else to describe it.”

In 2008 (by my reckoning) the MSM transitioned from “heavy liberal bias” to “full member of the Baraqqi regime”.
So we’re not only swimming upstream, but against a very strong and fast current.
So he was never ashamed of his country during the Clinton administration? That tells you a lot about his (lack of) character. Face it, Limbaugh was never a conservative. He just pretends to be one on the radio for money $$$$.
The government simply cannot keep delaying the inevitable. No one is going to like it at first but it needs to be explained in terms of avoiding a much worse fate down the road, and the cuts need to be continued until we do get a baseline reduction. Hopefully a momentum shift in adjusting people’s expectations will take hold sooner rather than later.

Yet Rush, only mentions cops, firefighters and air traffic controllers.

He was being sarcastic. Obama mentioned firefighters, cops and teachers. None of which are paid by the Federal government.
Exactly correct. There is simply no way Obama could be getting away with this without the full and absolute support of the corrupt, partisan MSM.
