Former Illinois congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty on Wednesday to federal conspiracy charges of using campaign funds to purchase personal and luxury items, bringing what’s likely a grim end to a fast-rising political career.

Jackson was charged Friday with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, mail fraud and making false statements. He is accused by prosecutors of spending $750,000 in campaign funds for personal use. Prosecutors also say that Jackson failed to report $28,000 in gifts he received.

In U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Jackson told Judge Robert Wilkins that he was guilty of the charges against him. “I used money I shouldn’t have… for personal purposes, and I acknowledge that.”

Jackson faces sentencing on June 28. Based on federal guidelines he could receive up to five years in prison, but prosecutors and defense attorneys could argue for a lighter or heavier term. Both sides have agreed that probation is off the table.

He could always hang the elk heads in his cell.

The only difference between him and his daddy is that he admitted it.

I would think the boy would be in line for a pardon from Baraq, except I doubt the feds would have nailed him in the first place unless Baraq sanctioned the prosecution.

There must be some bad voodoo ‘tween the Jacksons and Obamas?

Somebody on FR mentioned since the libs feel Republicans aren’t even competitive anymore, they’re starting to eat their own.

He may have been a distraction for the Illinois Democratic machine. Not to worry, despite his conviction, I’m sure the Democrat party offered him some sort of buy-out to plead guilty.

Jackson is found guilty. He will go to prison. Kilpatrick was found guilty. Jefferson was found guilty.

Corzine stole 2 billion and not even a blip.

Isn’t it strange how Republicans are portrayed as hating blacks yet it is the Democrats who continue to throw them under the bus, yet no one says anything?

He should get jail time for no other reason than the jokey and ludicrous entitlement gratuities he wasted his supporter’s
money on.”Bad taste leads to crime”, a phrase from a Russian novelist of the 19th century, never had a better example/

This would be the perfect seat in Congress for Chelsea Clinton-Mezvinsky to hold for 10 yrs or so until Malia Obama-Shabazz is old enough.

Prediction - He gets 18 months in the federal slammer, gets out, runs for his old seat in congress and wins in a land slide.

I doubt the guy or his wife will serve one day in prison.

He has already laid out an excuse...."He's got mental problems"

He's a black liberal marxist socialist democrat and will be forgiven.

It's good to be black and in the right party.

I'll bet anyone here...$200 bucks...that he does no time.

I’m not as sure as you are.

Somebody on FR pointed out to me that the libs are now so confident in their control of media and govt that they are starting to eat their own.

Let's not be smug. Nothing will happen to JJ Jr.
Why?
Because nothing has happened to his daddy, who has been impersonating a "reverend" and pilfering tax-free "donations" to his "church" for the past 40-some years.
That is why.

But his “sperm donor” was not a sitting Congressman. The article says that both sides agree that probation is out. So JJJR. will be locked up somewhere for some as yet to be specified time period. Wherever it is, at least he will not be in control of his life for awhile.
