MA Liberal Pushes Gun Ban, Citizens Show Up To Shoot It Down

The people have spoken, the ... conservatives?

The original, less-family-friendly quotation came from California Democrat Dick Tuck after he lost a U.S. Senate primary in 1966. This particular sentiment reflects the divide between the ever-more-left-leaning Democratic Party and the average person — even here in Massachusetts.

Wednesday night the Westford Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to withdraw an article from the Town Meeting warrant calling for the town to ban the possession of virtually all modern firearms. An overflow crowd of more than 400 people showed up to let liberal Selectman Robert Jefferies know that he doesn’t speak for them.

Jefferies responded by not speaking at all. He withdrew the article rather than allow the board to vote it down.

Jefferies originally pushed the anti-gun measure in the aftermath of the Newtown, Conn., massacre. He apparently assumed that the emotions of the moment would carry the day and his fellow Bay Staters would rally around his anti-gun activism.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the Moonbat Ball: Normal people showed up.

Anti-gun kooks who want to portray the Westford fiasco as an NRA-engineered ambush simply can’t. From callers to my radio show to letters to the local papers, it was clear for weeks that the people of Westford didn’t want this.

That truth flies in the face of media reporting, which would have you believe that Americans are desperate to give up their guns, if only those meanies at the National Rifle Association weren’t holding them hostage.

In fact, 43 percent of Americans tell Gallup they have a gun in their homes. In a new Quinnipiac poll, more Americans (46 percent) say the NRA reflects their views on guns than...

Great message by the NRA. Those turds in DC have convinced the low brows that they are superior and know what’s best for everyone. Time to burn Oz’s curtan and expose him for what he really is. He thinks everyone surrounding him has his back. So did Caesar. He’s just one chess move from destruction and too arrogant to realize it.

“The people have spoken...the b@stards!!”

Hope to hear that phrase uttered by many Dems over the next few months.

Ain’t over ‘til it’s over, folks.

Surprised the number is this high. Would you tell an unknown telephone pollster that you have a gun in the house? I’d simply decline to answer or, if a bad mood, say it’s none of their business.

What this state needs is a “Normal People’s Party.” Until then, we citizens will have to fight these battles ourselves.

Sounds like a good name for the new conservative party...

No, I would say that I don't own one but I think that every American should.
