JOLIET, Ill. – Drew Peterson showed nearly no emotion during his murder trial. Yet the once famously jocular ex-Illinois police officer screamed out his innocence before he was sentenced to 38 years in prison for his third wife's death.
The outburst Thursday suggested reality may be settling in for Peterson, who for years casually dismissed suggestions he killed Kathleen Savio in 2004, or that he was behind the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
Savio's death was initially ruled an accident. But after Stacy Peterson disappeared, authorities took another look and reclassified Savio's death as a homicide.

I had forgotten all about this schmuck. 38 years? Is that all you get for murder these days? I hope there’s no parole.
I’d prefer he got the death penalty, but since IL scrapped it, at least they’re putting this cocky POS away for what will amount to the rest of his life. That arrogance of his said, “catch me if you can.” Well, his ass got caught.
May his ultimate burning in hell be preceded only by his rotting in prison.
Can you imagine the fun the inmates will have with this virgin-rumped, smart ass cop (of all things)? Won’t they have fun with him? Can’t wait!
Some inmate will want the honor of bumping or rumping this scumbag.
Maybe the pompous fool will tell a cellmate where he dumped his missing wife so she can rest in peace.

A woman murdering cop in prison, hah! I would hazzard to guess that it’s not going to be a real fun time for him.

Sad is that his fellow cops covered up for him ....initially they ruled that Savio “drowned” in “an empty tub”. There needs to be some more cops going to jail w Peterson....and keep the other inmates entertained

The exact facts are vague to me right now, but I sat on a jury at a local murder trial about 12 years ago. In Texas the jury can choose the sentence.
We gave the guy something like 40 years rather than life because with a smaller sentence such as that, he'd have to serve the full term without parole. If we gave him life, he'd have been eligible for parole in something like 15 years. In effect, at his age, we gave him a lifetime sentence.
Like I said, I cant remember the exact years and such, but you get the general idea
You forget that there is always a woman our there that thinks she can change him.
The only thing worse would be if he was a child molester. Then he'd be in for a REAL welcoming.
Some people, aka psychopaths, belong as far away from the rest of us as possible.
What is it that makes attractive young women marry potbellied shlubs like Peterson, is what I want to know. (Wife Stacey was 19 when she married him, he was 49. His next fiance, Christina Raines, was 23 when she got engaged to him in 2008, before Christina's dad made her break up with Peterson)

Juries properly hold the most power in court, not coroners.
I think the jury felt it was beyond a reasonable doubt that this man is a murderer. I think they were right.
Ok, #3 wasnt murder until number #4 dissappeared?
Since LE, the proscuter, and the justice system cant do anything for #4, they courpt the system and turn it on its head to get justice. I think its a failure. Why do we seek justice for one dead wife and one missing wife? Where is my justice in a country bankrupted by a half kenyan, why cant he be brought up on charges? Where does it end? Each day we become weaker because we have lost out values to preserve our own intergerty. Saying jurys get things right sells our own intergerty in the same manner folks click like for homosexual agenda issues on facebook.
I don’t think so, 3clean, I think the jury system is a pretty good protection against despots like Obama and so forth.
I suppose any system can get corrupted but I think “twelve of your peers” is better insurance than “the coroner says so.”
I’d listen to the coroner but I prefer the final decision to be with the jury, including nullification of bad laws and etc.
Something about it I don’t like either. Just because he is a jerk does not make him a killer. He was still a cop and could have had many enemies. I could see someone he arrested bumping off his wife to get back at him. In fact that makes perfect sense. He has a gun and knows how to use it. Members of his family ie his wife most likely would not.
