Read someplace (FR?) that the clowns haven’t even figured what level of weed constitutes “DUI” yet. I guess they’ll have plenty of volunteers to undertake the testing. Maybe someone from the “Choom Gang” will raise their hand! Get out the oversize pillows and break out the sitar music. Crapenstock sandals and more tie-dye than you can shake a stick at. Maybe it’s a good idea they’re trying to pass stricter gun laws. I know drinking and guns don’t mix and I’m kinda thinking weed and guns is about the same thing. Of course re-loading takes an eternity. (just guessin’)

We’ve already got MADD so do we now need MAWSPH? (Mothers Against Weed Smokin’ Pot Heads).

[I was thinking about starting my own pro drinking group called DAMM. (Drunks Against Mad Mothers)] “Sarcasm alert!!!!”

Agreed on the potheads and their political parents’ policies in leadership. Spoiled special interests have brought us some ugly times.

The following is for all who read this, because the current political fights against our Second Amendment are quite related to it.

When many are laid off from government jobs and services dependent on those (more “austerity measures” ahead), crime rates will go way up then, IMO. Poverty doesn’t breed leftism/criminality (thus the relatively low crime rate now), but when the spoiled rotten overly socially inclined are deposed from their social troublemaking ways in offices,...

On violence and security, BTW, I’ve been around some (service, duties, employment, etc.). Most folks focus much on firearms, because firearms get a lot of attention in the media. But there are other very important considerations.

There are detectors (with receivers: alarms), lighting (soft lighting works), optics, physical/legal barriers (fences and many others—all nonlethal, of course), nonlethal weapons, cameras (many very low lux ones cheap now, for those who look for them enough), situations (where objects are situated—spots of concealment and the like), real cover of the pretty kind (low, small mounds with pretty flowers planted on them, rock veneers,...), diversions (prepared/likely approaches), gate w/intercom, lighting, lighting, lighting (including solar garden lights), opaque shades/curtains, plans, plans, plans,... A lawyer specializing in self-defense on retainer. The list is virtually endless. A well-secured home doesn’t have to be ugly or notorious. It can really be nice looking.

Consider in advance, how to properly escalate or de-escalate various situations in order to avoid the worst (avoid getting injured/killed, court, etc.). Attackers can be slimy with conniving, and later, prepared and practiced lies.

For those stuck in cheap rentals in the cities, there are many ways to stay out of the way of others, even in plain sight. Consider those frequently, over time. For a little humor, see the beggar characters of old kung fu movies, and compose a less obnoxious, less comical, western version of same character. Be pleasant and agreeable with neighbors, like an old fashioned, small town politician.

Above all, get and stay in good physical shape the best that you can (walks, wheelchair excursions, martial arts forms, calisthenics, any or all). Bad health will continue to be the greatest danger for us.

All of that said, I’m still strictly in favor of our Second Amendment. Do range practice while sober, straight, generally safe (patient) and as healthy as possible. Get interested in the numbers (ballistics—especially those related to accuracy). Do night fire practice somewhere, if feasible. Most people neglect nighttime and its probabilities (crime probabilities with defense considerations for the night—even neglected by most related duties or employment).

I’ve seen too many assumptions spouted in discussion boards on the Net. For example, some have said that self-defense can’t be done against a long range sniper, with hundreds of yards between the sniper and them. Well, some people have much visibility all around them, no place for cover and no police within many miles. What if the house of such a person receives thousands of rifle rounds fired from a long distance?

And what of the handloading myth based on a couple of tenuously relevant cases of the past? Trust accuracy to some custom cartridge shop? Bunk, and risky. A man or woman with a rifle or pistol for match competition or other sports (hunting, etc.) wasn’t planning to murder or excessively wound anyone. Some prosecutors pride themselves on getting improper convictions, and such feats of travesty have been accomplished in many strange ways (e.g., drama evoking emotional responses, storytelling, juries loaded with hysteria). The issue is as irrelevant as laws passed against traditional family structure on the anecdotes and subjectivities of feminists.

In other words, be nonpolitical. Do what is right and healthy regardless of the desires of pathological leadership from some (and cluelessness in many)—common sense. That’s one of the attitudes that won against the Soviet Union. Back to the old normal, and exclude only the suckups (the few perverted, busybody neighbors of fascism).
