Inhofe Warns GOP over Hagel Vote

Sen. James Inhofe (R., Okla.) has warned fellow Republicans they will be held accountable if they vote to end an ongoing Senate filibuster over the nomination of embattled secretary of defense nominee Chuck Hagel.

“Make no mistake; a vote for cloture is a vote to confirm Sen. Hagel as Secretary of Defense,” Inhofe wrote in a strongly worded letter to his Republican colleagues, several of whom have indicated in recent days that they would vote to end debate on Hagel’s nomination, paving the way for his confirmation.

To those who say that any nominee deserves an up or down vote, I say this:

The HI state registrar has indirectly confirmed that they cannot verify any of Obama’s HI birth facts because the record they have is non-valid. Without AT MINIMUM a US birth being legally established, there is no way that Obama could “qualify”, since the Constitution says that a person is not eligible to be President if they are not a natural born citizen. The 20th Amendment says that if the President elect fails to qualify by the beginning of the term, he/she cannot “act as President”. The vice president elect has to “act as President” until a President shall have qualified. IOW, Joe Biden.

Chuck Hagel was not nominated for SecDef by Joe Biden and thus CANNOT Constitutionally be allowed to be given an up or down vote. EVERY Senator should be voting against cloture.

The critters need to be told this, loud and clear.

Corrected, but we all know that.

I just gave one my senators (Fischer...NE) a message that states: Voting “Yes” on Kerrey for SoS was strike one, a vote for cloture on Hagel is strike two.

One strike three, I’ll be volunteering for her primary challenger in 2018.

I’m not putting up with this crap anymore.

If they confirm Hagel it would be proof that they would confirm anyone. Might as well do away with the confirmation process and stop wasting time and money on it.

Well, it didn’t take long for Deb Fischer to turn tails and run from the tea party, did it?

That is pretty profound. Are you saying do away with the Congress? I think Zero would love that.

It doesn't cost taxpayers anymore to have the confirmation process - unfortunately the Senate is not being paid on the number of actions they perform, or the Senators would be broke.
