MSNBC, a bastion of Obama advocates? (Turning into an Obama administration in exile)
CNN ^ | 02/22/2013 | Howard Kurtz

David Axelrod is a smart guy who knows a heck of a lot about politics and the press.

Robert Gibbs is also a smart guy who knows a heck of a lot about politics and the press.

They will now be dispensing their wisdom as paid contributors at MSNBC, and I'll be interested in what they have to say.

But I have to ask: Is NBC's cable channel turning into an Obama administration in exile?

It's hardly a news flash that MSNBC long ago decided to be cable's liberal bastion, a left-wing counterweight to Fox News. But the more the studios are populated with people who worked for the president, the more the network may seem like an off-campus adjunct of the West Wing.

To be sure, MSNBC was already packed with former Democratic presidential candidates, from Al Sharpton to Howard Dean. Former party chairman and Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell has also become a fixture, as well as former party spokeswoman Karen Finney.

MORE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION ALUMNI:

Jared Bernstein went from Joe Biden’s chief economist to MSNBC talking head. Now the former senior adviser and former press secretary will be holding forth on their former boss.

When it comes to “media” propaganda, Stalin and Hitler never had it this good. Barack the Kenyan has it made in the shade. Not bad for a fascist dictator.

Its instructive to consider that the Left thinks the babbling loons on MSNBC are a "counterweight" to Fox News.

My advice to Comcast is to abolish the news divisions.

And they also needed to go further left of everyone else to appease their communist audience.
I watch every now and then to see how sociopaths work politics.

Would that it were “in exile”...we can only dream of that day.

I think they mean annex. Or something, but exile is definitely not the word, alas.

“cable’s liberal bastion, a left-wing counterweight”

Wrong. It’s a Democrat bastion. You won’t hear any long-winded screeds condemning Obama’s use of drones on that network. They are Party Men.

A wise FReeper mentioned to me earlier that the liberals may have written off Republicans as a credible opponent, declared victory, and are starting to eat their own.

Ref: Stalin purges.

FOX continues to bury everyone, including MSNBC, in the ratings.

You’re correct, but only because the liberal viewing is split among all the other networks.

I don’t think these Political Commissars are being hired, I think they are being assigned. Since the MSM news readers, tape editors, news writers, and reporters are not properly schooled in Political Correctness, Social Justice, current DNC Progressive Dogma and frequently stray off the reservation, the Political Commissars are necessary. Baghdad Bob Gibbs and David Axelrod are the first to be assigned to all the networks. Each Commissar, reminiscent of the Lenin/Stalin eras, will be there to review, edit and correct any missteps by the MSM crews. They will not be allowed to execute any offender, by a shot to the back of the head, but will be able to have them arrested and detained under domestic terrorism laws. Later, they will be “disappeared” in the Homeland Security Gulag. Rumor is that Van Jones will be assigned to CBS, Debbie Wasser-her-name to ABC, and Howard Dean to be resurrected from the dead for CNN. Since Fox News is not really a network, only a token Commissar will be assigned to them .... probably Conlon Powell. Eventually, czars in other areas such as banking, automotive, energy, etc. will be replaced with Commissars who will have more power direct their activities in accordance with desired Progressive policies.

MSNBC didn't invent this practice; Fox News is the model.

For a while, it served as the Bush administration in exile, with such loyalists as Karl Rove, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton and ex-press secretary Dana Perino. Fox also provided Bush with a spokesman when the late Tony Snow made the jump from Roger Ailes' network to the White House.

Kurtz is a liar.

Fox has always had left-wing commentators as well...from Juan Williams to Shephard Smith to Bob Beckel...and more.

MSNBC does not employ conservatives. No, Joe Scarborough is NOT a conservative.

Indeed. It’s also telling that he wants us to believe that Fox News was the heavy side of the scales.

ABC already has George Stephanopolos. Recall the display of obvious collusion between him and Obama we saw during one of the Republican debates, where he tried to sandbag Romney with a nonsensical birth control question out of the blue. One week later, Sandra Fluke similarly appears out of nowhere and birth control is suddenly supposed to be a God-given right.

Yes Journ-0-list Stephanopolus

WTH didn’t our Tea Party endorsed candidates have a clue that the MSM had signaled the “war on women” theme back in January?

Even a casual listener to Rush / Dana like myself had that message the week it rolled out from Baraqqi campaign hq.
