(Newser) – So much for speaking up: Richmond police have fired a whistleblowing cop for claiming that two officers chatted about shooting and bombing President Obama while protecting him, Raw Story reports. The officer, who wasn't named, told WTVR last May that a supervisor had said to a police sharpshooter, "You’re down there right? So, you can take a couple of shots, you might have to kill yourself, but you can take a couple of shots."
The supervisor allegedly discussed planting a bomb under the stage and dissed Michelle Obama, who was also there: "Nobody wants to see her anyway—unless she gets undressed or get [sic] naked." The whistleblowing cop said he was fired for ignoring department policy and giving the TV station an interview. But the two officers involved also lost their jobs: "Their careers were ended and they have gone through eight months of hell" over "false allegations," their lawyer tells WTVR.

I am no supporter of Obama or his policies, but I find it disgusting that anyone would seriously entertain harming our sitting President. Enough is enough.
Oh, please. Those comments don’t sound like they were “seriously entertaining” anything.
I just wonder about the racial persuasion the whistle blower. Out of three guesses I would imagine the first two probably doesn’t count. Sounds like a good way to get rid of someone you don’t like especially if they are not of your own racial background..

It’s not the kind of thing you joke about, but I imagine that’s probably what they were doing.
Evidently they weren’t doing it in public, so it wouldn’t have gone anywhere if the third cop hadn’t decided to rat on them—on TV.
After that, not much choice but to fire two of them for making a very bad joke, and the third for taking it public, betraying his fellow cops, and embarrassing his superiors.
I have no respect for O, but I certainly respect the office of the President of the United States. Those who talk about killing the sitting president don’t deserve respect, just a jail cell.
Come on. This is a true “feel good” story. Nothing like cop-on-cop mayhem to bring a smile to the world! At least if cops are at each others throats they don’t have time to shoot pets or exchange sex for ripping up traffic tickets or shaking down druggies for hits, cash or blow jobs.

Uh...they’re taking Marines’ bolts out their rifles and disarming soldiers when he visits; we’re supposed to believe there’s not more to this than what sounds like BS?
