Sacramento Assemblyman Roger Dickinson wants to put a 5 cent tax for every bullet you buy in the State of California.

Gun advocates say though it just doesn’t add up.

“Our politicians have become some of the best gun and amo salesmen in history,” noted Mark Gardner a Sacramento gun owner.

California is trying to make it too expensive to own a gun. The power to tax is the power to destroy. If passed I will travel to Oregon, Nevada or Arizona and load up.

“If passed I will travel to Oregon, Nevada or Arizona and load up.”

If passed you should go to Sacramento to unload. (-;

That means the tax on a bulk box of .22 ammo would be $27.50

He said bullets. Didn't mention cartridges.

Two different things.

To a California politician a semi-automatic shotgun is an assault weapon so I don’t think they know the difference between a bullet and a cartridge.

We knew they would try to do this.
The elites think only they should have guns.
Price the common man out, heck they are doing it now, why does one suppose DHS has 2 billion rds of ammo on order?
It is to reduce supply for us and jack up the prices.

Sadly reloading is not a decent option, that supply line is strained as well.
I recall that one of Obamas first devious deeds was to pass law that shredded and scrapped all once fired military brass.
To what end?
We know the answer.

That law was rescinded when we took the house in 2010, but Obama keeps chipping away.

In his latest SOTU he directed the ERA to look into the environmental impact of bullets.

He doesn’t even want us to be able to cast our own musket balls.

Well FUBO!!! Barry.

I believe that the man in the single wide trailor has as much of a right to a firearm as the fellow that lives in the mansion on the hill, and the constitution guarantees it!!!

There has to be a way to stop Obama from infringing on commerce.

“You can buy all you need yourself. Go home and make your own bullets. It’s cheaper,” said Ken Moyer.

I only wish. Primers are in short supply and bullets are impossible to find. I am thinking about learning how swage my own bullets, but that is very costly.

Not if they levy a 1000% tax on powder, primers, bullets, and brass - and don't imagine that isn't something they wouldn't do.

I foresee a huge black market developing in ammunition. BLOAT! (if you can find any)

Why don’t you just cast them?

I propose a “sanity test” for all California political candidates and for those in office.

That should empty their legislatures, city councils, and boards, while filling up the insane asylums.

An indea whose time has come!

"'People will just reload their own,' explained Julia Draper."

Then they would tax every bullet (as differentiated from cartridge), or every brass case. Many Democrats also invested in firearms and supplies before chasing the herds toward them in the campaign against American peasants owning firearms. Reloading supplies are pretty much long gone, BTW--sold out weeks ago.

As noted during the last ammunition and supply shortage, primers would be quite a challenge to make as a do-it-yourself project.

Making primers without certain licenses would probably also be construed as being illegal. You did not suggest that, I know. But a “black market” would probably not find a domestic source of contemporary primers (my point). Supplies for flintlocks might be possible, though.

The Californicators would tax your flatulence if they could figure out a way to do it.

Just cut back on other discretionary spending. Make every cent they try to take out of the freedom business come from some other area of the economy.

There are also big bore air rifles up to .50 caliber that can penetrate 2 inches of wood at 100 yards. Some are fully automatic at 223 caliber.
