Two days after Senate Democrats claimed they would not seek a ban on modern firearms and feeding devices, Democrats in the Oregon House introduced just that.
Seven Senators joined with eight House Reps to introduce a sweeping ban on virtually all modern firearms. Among the Senators is, of course, Ginny Burdick, who claimed on Wednesday that she is backing off an attempt to push through a bill on gun clips that she drafted following the December shootings at the Clackamas Mall. The other sponsors are:
Representatives BAILEY, BUCKLEY, DEMBROW, FREDERICK, READ, REARDON, TOMEI, Senators , DINGFELDER, HASS, MONNES- ANDERSON, MONROE, SHIELDS, STEINER- HAYWARD.
Remember them.
HB 3200 not only bans most modern guns and magazines, it allows warrantless searches of your home, requires background checks and registration for a firearm you already own and as-of-yet undefined storage requirements. We say a firearm because even if you comply with the restrictions in this bill you may still only own one.
(Of course the bill does not apply to government employees.)
The bill combines the most extreme and irrational elements of other bills that have been introduced across the country. For example, one of the firearms banned under this bill would be a pistol with a folding, telescoping or thumbhole stock. No, that is not a misprint.
The principle sponsor of the bill is House Rep Mitch Greenlick, who in the past has concentrated on such worthy endeavors as banning children in bike trailers and making possession of cigarettes a crime.
The bill bans such deadly features as pistol grips and barrel shrouds because clearly they add to the lethality of any firearm. These people are so full of hatred for gun owners they dont even understand what they are banning.
Never have we seen legislation that was a product of so much ignorance and blind hatred. And dont take any comfort from the claims that bills of this kind are not going to get a hearing. You will recall that last session they said the same thing about a ban on licensed carry in schools. They claimed it was dead and then revived it in the closing days of the session with even allowing public testimony. It was only your relentless efforts that killed it. And now we need you again. Please use our automailer to send a message to the legislature to do all they can to stop HB 3200 and any bill like it. You can use the message provided or write your own.
Bill Meyer, a local radio host says: Remember the Democratic "We're not going to ban guns" talk from Salem? Mitch Greenlick introduces HB3200 (Rep.Peter Buckley Co-Sponsors). Kevin Starrett calls it about the most extreme bill he's ever seen - bans most modern firearms and magazines, requires that you register the ONE gun you will be allowed to own and allows for warrantless searches of your home.

I don’t know who has an Oregon ping list anymore. I just move back and this crappola happens!
Rats lie?? I’m Shocked! I tell you Shocked.
A gun free state is like a gun free home, prime hunting grounds for criminals, gandbangers, drug gangs, rapists and murderers. Its open season. This is funny! While the legislators and thier families are comfortable in thier warm beds with thier firearms beside them or thier security guards close by the PEOPLE will have to fend for themselves. Voting has consequences, now they have just become life threatening consequences. enjoy fools
If you use terms such as “liberty” and “freedom” in Oregon, they look at you like you have 6 heads. Freedom to and freedom from are foreign concepts. Say the name “Adam Smith” and they think of beer.
I am amazed that MA is more conservative than OR. The town of Wesford just proposed a gun ban and over 400 really pissed-off gun owners showed-up at the selectmen’s meeting and left the pols hiding under the table, pissing themselves. A truly beautiful sight!
“I am amazed that MA is more conservative than OR. The town of Wesford just proposed a gun ban and over 400 really pissed-off gun owners showed-up at the selectmens meeting and left the pols hiding under the table, pissing themselves. A truly beautiful sight!”
Oh, this just came down the pike...don’t you worry, there’s still several million of us native, OLD FART Oregonians, and you’ve never seen pissed off yet! These liberal invaders to our state have caused enough trouble. It need to stop. NOW.
Remember Schmuckie Schumer announcing a few years back that the DNC would be dropping gun-control from their national platform as it was a losing issue?
Evidently he and the rest of the dims lied then, too, and just took the campaign underground. How very subversive of them.
Were you surprised? It is Oregon, you know.
Linky?
I hate to say this but part of me is OK with blue states passing stringent gun legislation. let them disarm
The entire west coast has been Californicated. It's even seeping into Alaska.
It’s time to start throwing these commie piggies’ @$$es in prison for violating OUR Bill or Rights. These commie piggies need to be reminded that they are really nothing more than lowlife public servants and the only reason people vote for them is because voters know that they can’t get real jobs.
.

Unfortunately, the average Libtard is completely devoid of common sense ... and nothing illustrates this better than their idiotic war on guns!
Every state is introducing practically identical bills.
They are creating a smoke screen for some nefarious scheme they are conducting "under the radar."
I was born and raised in Oregon, mostly on the coast. It is a beautiful state and at one time, most of the people were good folks, proud patriots.... but then, the Californians came.
I still enjoy visiting Oregon every year... it has so many great memories for me, but I usually get frustrated because of the large population of libs.
If only I could turn back the hands of time.
Salvation, are you still maintaining the OR ping list?
Tell ‘em all to come get some. The lefties that i know are awakening to these idiots. The dimwit ruling class is over playing their hand.
Wanna bet these lawmakers are protected by armed guards or police when in session.
“If only I could turn back the hands of time.”
1948, I was 3 weeks old, when we first came to Oregon. I’ve lived all but 10 years since in this state. Breaks my heart, I don’t recognize it any more.
Thanks, Twotone.
“The dimwit ruling class is over playing their hand.”
Oh, I hope you’re right. The lefties I know seem to just be dug in even more with every dumb@$$ idea they come up with.
If I were to post my thoughts on this subject, I would be banned from FR. Worse, the local police would be beating down my door. So, I’ll just keep it to myself. Hoping, that it happens.
LOL.... you moved into the state the very same year that I did.
Yes, the changes are very sad.
Thanks for the posting. When I see a post like this I hope FR 2nd amendment supporters use their printer and print up a batch and spread them around their favorite watering hole or coffee shop..
I wonder where and when the next Concord bridge will happen.
5.56mm
You, too, M. Kehoe, stay safe. Not lookin’ good these days, is it??
AuntB, I think Salvantion has a (the?) OR ping list.
Welcome back to Oregon....
Have you seen SB 401 OR Dem Senator Bates is proposing as an amendment to the State Scenic Waterways Act? More strangulation and insanity. Look for a letter to the editor in the Daily Courier soon. If they print it...
If I came upon any of these Anti Constitution Traitors swinging from a Tree, I wouldn’t shed a tear for them.
In fact, if they were still squirming for breath, my NRA Knife would stay safely secured in my pocket while I watched the rope vibrate.
I might try to cut the rope Clint Eastwood style using my AR-15, but it would only be to practice my accuracy.
But hey, that’s just me.
Then, since you can't buy a gun without the government OK, they pull (emphasis mine):
"SECTION 6. { + This 2013 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2013 Act takes effect on its passage. + }
Then shut down the background checks - no more gun allowed to be legally sold. The authorities did this during the LA riots for the same reason. That's when those naive unarmed people who depended upon the government to protect them found out they didn't, and were left helpless.
‘bout time to start warming up the tar, fluffing up the feathers, and lining up the rails. These SOBs and their ilk need to be made an example of.
Yes, I said it!
Well this is #$@#%s...not surprising but it still is. What IS surprising is DeFazio’s name is NOT on it.
Oh and welcome HOME!
Now to find who owns the OR ping list.
Link to HB 3200 on the state website.

All the Oregon firearm legislation can be read at www.ossa.org
Ha ha ha ha ha! You people in Oregon are too stupid to pump your own gas, too stupid to own a gun, and apparently, have just been proven to be too stupid to elect representatives any smarter than yourselves. Are you sure you guys didn’t legalize dope waaay before your friends to the north?
Congratulations, it must suck to be you!
I'm planning a rather rude video for YouTube I hope will go viral. Trying to get a couple of actors lined up and I'll need to borrow some riot gear for it.
Here’s the thing I found out and why I suggest low tech approaches known as “blitzing” house to house leaflet distribution through my years of campaigning http://www.theusmat.com/ there is a link to my campaigning page at that site. http://www.theusmat.com/home.htm
A piece of paper in the hand is tangible and remembered even if it’s discarded. And it’s immediate if they read it they might talk about the subject with their friends etc.
Videos are great if they know where to look and even if you post a link which means sending out an email or whatever they still have to work to get it. But if you have an idea by all means do it. Storybook your production and try and keep costs down .. Good Luck
They must smell blood in the water - every day they become more overt in their intentions to trash the Constitution and subjugate the People. There was a time when folks like the Founders would have brought them all up on charges of treason and sedition and carried out the prescribed punishments. If a company had a CEO and upper management that did to the company what the Left is doing to the country, the government would step in and squash them for damage done to the workers/investors. Yet self-same “government decides to squash the People of the “company” instead.
The only Concord bridge that matters now is the desk where you fill out your tax return...or not.
That is where you support the existing govt...or not.
That is where anyone’s true allegiance becomes manifest.
Good job!!
Be Ever Vigilant!!
Seems to me that they're trying to get some of their useful idiots like Oregon House Rep Mitch Greenlick assassinated in order to push firearms confiscation.
You don’t know what the hell you are talking about. There are plenty of conservative people in OR who are outvoted by freaks in Portland and Eugene, and Multonomah county always waits until all the other votes are in so they know how many to manufacture.
Speaking of drugs....maybe you have a bit of personal experience while posting?
BTW your posting history is very odd. 20 posts since 2008.
