2. SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK
3. LES MISERABLES
4. THE IMPOSSIBLE
5. THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER
6. SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN
7. THE HOBBIT
8. A LATE QUARTET
9. ACT OF VALOR
10. WON'T BACK DOWN
The rest sucked....Loudly....
I thought Skyfall would have been up there, based on the reviews it got.
I’ve seen two on the list. Salmon fishing in the Yemen...harmless film...meh.
Les Miserables: Looked nice. Sounded OK to awful. Overall a wasted chance.
Well, having seen Les Mis on Broadway, I was expecting more of an epic film.
I also saw Anna Karenina and thought “WTF? Dis is sohhhh booring....”
Maybe I’ve seen to many plays, Broadway performances and even a few in Jolly ole England and the snobs of Europe, France.
But! I’ve seen em all and even had occasion to see Nureyhb and Mishca. I call em that having had dinner with both, finding one to be obnoxious and the other terribly shy....or not good crowds but great fun never the less.
Had a friend, who adored Barishnikov and wanted a pic with him. Didn’t think he’d allow it and connned a friend into hiding int he bushes.
The plan was as they walked by they would get a paparazzi style shoot and a laugh.
Well, the friend who wuz in charge of taking the pics pops up and in her haste she falls over the bushes she was hiding behind.
Barishnikov raises his eyebrow, helps her up and says “Joo want my pichure? Witd your Freend?”
She replied “Please” and he was a good sport about it and wrapped his arms my friend and they have not only a great picture but, he even double signed a lithograph of him.
Who has that?
You didn’t like Act of Valor?
Personally, I thought it was a great flick.
We are talking bout Oscar stuff though.
I hope they more Act of Valor’s.
Awsome scene when they turn the twin guns on the shore from two boats.
Also, dug the drone cameras...
and the humanity of the outcome and the thoughtfulness of the actions they were going to engage in.
Showed their professionalism of intent and what their best outcome options they wanted.
Boom! Shaka Laka! Boom!
Give The Impossible a shot. I was thinking it was going to be boring but it was really good. I agree that Argo especially was incredible! I hope it wins the Oscar for best picture. I saw 6 of 10 movies listed. I think the one movie that is way over rated (IMHO) was Silver Lining Notebook....I did NOT like the movie at all.
I agree, The Impossible was really good. Based on a true story. The move wasn’t nominated, but Naomi Watts was.
Saw one of those ... in 2013. Ah well, another year where I don’t see 10 movies in the theaters. Granted, I saw Batman 2.3 times, sooo ... I guess I had a chance to increase that.
The impossible ???
A fantastic movie about the Tsunami in Thailand. It had Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts. If you have not seen it, please do.
I forgot about that and had wanted to see it.
I liked “Arbitrage” with Richard Gere. He was the man under extreme pressure and he pulled through for his family though they did not appreciate it. They being daughter and wife. But he threaded the needle the way it should be.
Nate Parker (up n coming black actor) and writer-director (only 33 years old with very interesting bio) Nicholas Jarecki did great jobs. Never heard of either.
