MILLER: The David Gregory police mystery
The Washington Times ^ | 21 February, 2012 | Emily Miller

Posted on 02/23/2013 7:13:38 AM PST by marktwain

The District of Columbia seems not to want the public to know what it did — if anything — while investigating NBC News’ David Gregory for possession of an illegal 30-round magazine. The police refuse to turn over the public documents in the case, and the city council is allowing them to stonewall.

Mr. Gregory wielded the “high capacity” magazine on his Dec. 23 “Meet the Press” show. Afterwards, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that it had been asked by NBC if the multi-million dollar TV anchor could possess the illegal component and refused him. The police said it was investigating the matter, but would not release any further information. (Click here to read more about the police matter.)

On Jan. 9, I emailed Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier’s spokesman Gwendolyn Crump and top strategic advisor Kelly O’Meara for the case number for Mr. Gregory. By law, the police are required to turn over to the public a copy of the initial police incident/offense report, called the PD-251, which is identifiable by the six digit case number.

The next day, Mrs. Crump emailed that she would send the document when it was prepared. She ignored my request for the simple case number. As the incident report is the standard document to open a case, I asked how it was possible that it wasn’t prepared when Mr. Gregory committed the offense on Dec. 23. She did not reply.

Nice to see Emily Miller working on this. She is doing a great job of investigative reporting. Of course, she has almost no competition.

Ms. Miller obviously has higher ethics and morals than her fellow “reporters” who can’t wait to don their kneepads and assume the position to ensure their continued favor in the eyes of TPTB.

Some people are simply above the law. Not me. Not you. But the media and political elite are not subject to the laws. They are special.

A hallmark of a dictatorship: The law is what they say it is when then say it. Depending on whether you are inner party, outer party or lumpen proletariat, you can get either an attaboy or a prison term. If Emily Miller causes them enough grief, I wouldn’t be surprised if they find her in violation of DC’s bizarre firearms laws and tossed in jail herself.

Too bad we did not spend this much energy on Obama’s Birth Certificate....we could have had a GOP president.

There are a lot of other pressing things than an MSNBC reporter holding an empty weapon magazine.

I think a constitutionally ineligible President is much more to deal with than an MSNBC liberal holding an empty magazine. GOPers fall for anything trivial

For years the left thought they were so clever when they referred to W. as a "Chimp."

Everytime I see Gregory, he reminds me of a baboon that has just been roused from a deep slumber...

We have very clearly entered the era of selective law enforcement. It has always existed, to a certain degree, but now it is very clear that players useful to the advancement of The Agenda will never be charged with any law aimed at opponents of The Agenda - unless, like Jesse Jackson Jr, their sins become so egregious as to imperil The Agenda.

Always protecting their own. The scumbags that they are.

Yeah, but even in that case, anyone else would have had to plead to at least half a dozen counts and would have faced a heck of a lot more than 3 years max.

Nothing to see here: Laws are just for the little people.
As long as they don’t seek it’s protection: see `Schools’.

A hallmark of a dictatorship: The law is what they say it is when then say it.

This is also the "beauty" of a "living constitution." It gets away from that pesky concept of "rule of law" to the much more comfortable (for the rulers), "rule of man."

So, what’s the evidence?

I mean, did anyone actually see him do this?
