A local 15-year-old, Demetrius Murphy, was shot and killed last Friday while allegedly breaking into a home. Another case of a young man--our very future--tragically taken from us as a consequence of one bad decision on his part? Perhaps not, according to Fox 2 St. Louis:
In fact, FOX2 has learned, he was once charged in the case that made the phrase “knockout game” common in St. Louis.Demetrius Murphy, 15, died Friday morning after he and another teen, Michael Bryant, allegedly tried to break into a man’s home on Tennessee. Police say the homeowner emerged with a gun. Bryant ran, but they say Murphy confronted him and was shot and killed.
We have talked about the "knockout game" before, after a mob of feral teenagers, allegedly including young Demetrius, put a man, Matt Quain, in intensive care--just for "fun." For those unfamiliar with this form of "recreation," here is Wikipedia's entry about it, and this is how St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner described it then:

Heard on the tube the other night (AFTER ANOTHER SENSELESS SHOOTING) and the mother was crying over her 15 yo that was killed in a parking lot at 0dark30 - he was planning on his being a baby daddy and now ‘they’ took that away from him/her.
Remember reading back in the 80’s or so there would be a ‘human interest’ story of some young kid (usually a girl) who would try to do the right thing - enter the work force, ZERO offspring by 18 or 19, but with the meager pay, high cost of living, ‘she’ would move back home and be ‘encouraged’ to have kids as that paid more in the long run than a job.
Right, wrong or indifferent if THAT is what they believed then, only imagine what it is now.
You see ‘everyday’ stories about how the ‘GRANDMOTHER’ is the backbone of the family...Of course this ‘GRANDMOTHER’ is NOT the sweet little old lady ‘we’ grew up around, but a 35-40 yo who had spit out 6 kids by the time she was 21, now the next generation ‘fruit of the loins’ is upon us.
What makes her such an expert when it comes to child rearing? Only 3 of her ‘kids’ didn’t make it to 20?
We have festered such a boil here that once lanced, ‘WE’ will drown when it starts to flow.....
Just took delivery of my PMR 30 last month after a 2 year wait. Its a great little weapon. If nothing else it will scare you to death. Louder than our AK 74 and throws a heckofa flame out of the barrel. Dead accurate too.
He should have stuck to writing music. Things might have turned out better.

They bash smokers for the costs they add to the healthcare system but ignore the larger costs to society by out of wedlock children raised without intact families. Factor in the cost of the crimes they commit on the justice system, prisons, the number of murders, welfare payments, food stamps, rent, etc., its astronomical. They are a huge drain on society but no one dare says anything about addressing the origin of the ferals.
As a teacher that has taught at an all-black school, that’s the saddest thing about our culture: the fact that we legitimize a musical genre that destroys families, ridicules the legitimate roles of men and women, glorifies violence and aberrant behavior, and is simply now a (at best) mediocre art form.
Black males should have happy, productive lives like everyone else, but the music industry and Democrat policies refuse to allow them to.
Actually you have to think of something to say, and sometimes to improvise on the spot, and sometimes to respond with improvisation to what other people have said. And to be entertaining. So undoubtedly there are some people doing this who are extremely intelligent. But there is a wide gradation of participants because there is less barrier to entry than having to learn an instrument for instance.
How in the hell did "rapping" become a vocational star to seek? Just mindless!
A lot of people think they can be singers or rock musicians. Or politicians. A lot of young people crave fame and the perceived benefits that come with it without honestly considering if they really have the unusual level of talent required to actually be paid for their chosen activity.
The ability to compose poetry extemporaneously used to be held in high esteem. Maybe that's not so different from rapping.

There's still plenty of good black people in America but the ghetto culture has got to be done away with, along with the reparations mentality.

I am not trying to be a wet blanket but using home modified rounds in a self defense shooting is an easy way for a ambitious ADA to make a person out as paranoid maniac who was looking to kill for the most trivial reason. It would help the ADA for at least a manslaughter charge. I see you are from PA and are a former LEO so maybe you could pull it off if you get the right jury but I wouldn't want to roll the dice like that. I agree with you on the potential effectiveness of the round but I wouldn't want to give the DA free “ammo” in a shooting case.

AMEN to that. I worked in the South in the '60s and saw crap like bathrooms labelled "White Men", "White Women" and "Black" - at that time an unacceptable unisex approach. Water fountains were also labelled by race.
I also worked with some whites who got clubbed and dog-bit fighting those rednecks. Lately I wondered how they feel now that their work has been so corrupted.
What’s up with the PMR 30? MSRP is $415, but I can’t find one under $800.
