There have been two recent developments that should greatly raise the level of concern over the Islamic Republic of Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons.
First was the recent North Korean nuclear test. There is no doubt that Iran and North Korea have cooperated for decades on a variety of matters.
They have evidently shared ballistic missile technology and there have even been reports from the US Congressional Research Service of North Korean advisers training Hezbollah terrorists in the Bekaa Valley, something that would almost certainly be set up by the Iranian Pasdaran.
In the past, when the North Koreans have conducted weapons tests of various types, there have been repeated reports of Iranian observers on the scene.
The latest North Korean nuclear test indicates that North Korea has two separate and relatively successful nuclear weapons tracks: one plutonium and the other enriched uranium.
Given the close relationship between North Korea and Iran in the past, and given that Iran is awash in petrodollars (despite sanctions) and North Korea is always wanting for cash, one cannot help but be concerned that at the very least nuclear technology is changing hands. At the worst, North Korea might well simply sell Iran a nuclear bomb.
Meanwhile, Iran’s own nuclear research efforts continue apace.

The article lines up all the dots, but fails to connect them. If North Korea has the bomb, then Iran does to, with 100% certainty.

If North Korea had any bomb, they would have hit Seoul with it already.
Only if they all wanted to die. If the ROK (South Korean) army isn’t the toughest in the world, they’re in the top 5. I spent two long tours with them and that was before they became an economic powerhouse. And how would the DPRK get the weapon to Seoul? They have no missile or airplane that can carry something that size 30 miles.
Get serious; it was North Korea that sunk the BP oil platform in the gulf.
They do not have to worry so much about a reponse from Hussein, that they know.......The Japanese may give them pause though.
No one in open source is saying what it is that they are popping off, but speculation is that they are testing triggers for two stage nukes.
Very unlikely the Norks are stuck in 1945 tech with Fat Boy size devices. Not with the help of the Pok-e-stan muzzies and all. A 15-20kt device is still a crowd pleaser with all the attended secondary effects.
If Japan and South Korea don’t have nuclear (or even thermonuclear weapons for that matter) they could have them in months. Plus, we have a mutual defense treaty with both and last time I checked, we still have plenty.

I’m proud of my two tours there (I Corps G-2 and Second Division G-2) and my late father fighting in the Korean War with the 9th Defense Battalion, USMC in his second of three conflicts.
My problem with Hussein is the hunch that he will toss the south under the bus if he is forced to make a decision. I do suspect that the south as well as Japan, has nukes now, or within days or weeks if needed.
Both probably know as well that the little faggot in the Whitehut will not back them up and they are on their own. Neither country is known for backing down from a fight.
Question is, does the fat little midget NORK understand this, or does he just assume Obunga will faint away with nothing more than a sternly worded letter?
Interesting times.
Many of the Korean Army majors and above that I worked with circa 1978 in Uijongbu were in the Tiger Division, White Horse Division and Blue Dragon Brigade during Vietnam. Great stories. I almost pity the VC, Viet Minh and NVA.
