STUDENTS MADE TO WEAR BURQAS IN U.S. STATE (Texas)

However, in Lumberton, Texas, this week, high school girls were made to wear burqas as part of a CSCOPE study of Islam.

One student quoted the teacher as saying, “We are going to work to change your perception of Islam.”

The teacher in the burqa lesson, according to a student, also said, “I do not necessarily agree with this, but I am supposed to teach you that we are not to call these people terrorists anymore, but freedom fighters.”

Critics argue that this should not be a teacher’s role, and are concerned that CSCOPE curriculum appears agenda-driven.

According to a student in the class, the lesson was to teach about the life of women in Islam. The burqa exercise focused on fashion and did not include the fact that to be in public without a burqa in many Muslim countries is punishable by death.

At the end of class, the students were assigned to write a paper about Egypt. According to one student, they were instructed to discuss “how Egypt was a good country until democracy took over, and that things were finally corrected when the Muslim brotherhood came into power.”

And here I thought cscope was a software tool used to cross-index source code files.

Where are the pie-eyed ACLU zealots screaming “Separation of Church and State! Separation of Church and State!”

Oh, right, there’s nothing in there about “Separation of MOSQUE and State.” Never mind.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THIS??!! AND IN TEXAS OF ALL PLACES?? If that was my kid’s class I would be down at that school so fast, demanding that they cease and desist. Unbelievable...after 911, who would have believed such a thing could occur. We truly are doomed if we don’t start actively fighting back.

“We are going to work to change your perception of Islam.”

Dictating what people wear does nothing but prove what I already believe.

I assume they are going to make the little muzzies wear little gold crucifixes around their necks and walk around in normal people’s clothing - so that the muzzies can get an idea of what it’s like to be free.

Dunno. Having to wear a sack to school might have made them dislike Islam all the more. That would be a GOOD thing.
They should have done this the spring term so that the student could get the full effect...

Yet another reason why I homeschool.

School administrators are often ideologically driven idiots, the sort of people who have no business being around children at all, much less education.

The “public school”, including the “charter school”, is BY FAR, the largest, most expensive, most subversive, and most destructive entitlement program in the country.

The “public school” is better understood as the “government school collective”.

It is silly to imagine that you can fix the public schools, because the very concept itself is collectivist.

Any child that comes out of the government school collective with their moral compass and common sense intact does so in spite of the government school indoctrination, not because of it.

If you want to win the culture war, have lots of children (see my tagline) and homeschool them or form your own school cooperative with your church or synagogue and like-minded friends and relatives.

Nobody loves your children more than you do.

Nobody can teach your children better than you can.

Nobody knows your children better than you do.

Your children would love nothing better than to be taught by you, if you start doing so before they are corrupted by the government school collective.

It is hypocritical for you to submit your children to an authority with whom you fundamentally disagree. And your children will know it.

If you have children, make whatever sacrifices you must to get them out of the public schools.

DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!

Especially not with your own children.

And DO NOT TAKE GOVERNMENT “EDUCATION” MONEY!

He that pays the piper calls the tune, and that’s especially true for any government entitlement program.

” be in public without a burqa in many Muslim countries is punishable by death. “

I think Saudi Arabia is the only one. Maybe Kuwait. The Hijab is required in most Muslims countries.

The teacher doesn’t agree with it, however, she goes along with it. Guess she likes her cushy job and summer vacation. To add insult to injury, the student is instructed what to write in a paper.

This is almost as bad as the situation in MA, which is horrendous.

It’s time to ditch government schools, and the only way that’s going to happen is when parents vote with their feet.

The teacher in the burqa lesson, according to a student, also said, “I do not necessarily agree with this, but I am supposed to teach you that we are not to call these people terrorists anymore, but freedom fighters.”

Ironically, CSCOPE requires that teachers refer to the Boston Tea Party patriots as "terrorists".
