Even Woody Allen would be good if he played against little kids...and isn’t that what’s going on here.

6’1” 215 pounds.

I would think it would be difficult to evaluate him since he’s so much bigger than the guys he plays against.

Plus, who knows of CNS will BE at Alabama in 2017?

Tempest in a teapot, IMO.

Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie offered scholarships to very young prospects also but he was long gone before they reached college age.

Not really. The NCAA will come down on this like a ton of bricks. They don’t like ‘their’ rules to be flaunted

Signing them young is not unheard of in international soccer. The greatest soccer player in the world, Lionel Messi, signed with FC Barcelona at age 11.

The easiest way to end nonsense like this is to make all scholarship offers and acceptances a 4 year scholarship which cannot be taken back. You are granted a certain number of 4 year scholarships (not 4-1yr. scholarships) and if they don’t pan out, tough, you lose that scholarship for 4 years. With this policy kids will at least be able to finish school if they get injured or a new coach decides a player doesn’t fit his “system”. This will be especially important in basketball where scholarships are at a premium and would end farces like Calipari recruiting a whole team of one-and-dones. They only play one year but you can’t replace the scholarship for another 3 years. Say hello to 3 years of walk-ons.
