I used to enjoy reading the International Herald while relaxing with a nice Swiss bier in Zurich.

That was years ago. It is so leftist now, the name change is long overdue.

The death throes of the old media.

The Herald-Tribune was a historic name with venerable (though not always honorable) historical associations.

The International New York Times sounds a lot like the Titanic, or the Hindenburg, or the Concorde -- all venerable names I guess, but without much of a future to go with the past.

You can’t sprinkle peanuts on a steaming turd and call it a chocolate doughnut. It will still be a pile of excrement.

They are hoping that Europeans haven’t heard of the Times fall into fish-wrapper territory.
