In a highly unusual move, federal immigration officials have released a wave of detainees from immigration detention centers around the country in an effort to save money as automatic budget cuts loom in Washington, officials said.
The government has not dropped the deportation cases against the immigrants, however: The detainees have been freed on supervised release while their cases continue in court, officials said.

Totally predictable.
Obama is intent on causing as much chaos and pain as possible picking his “cuts” strategically. Pain,suffering,misery,chaos,destruction. Obama feeds on it, needs it to gain strength.
Then blame the evil Republicans.
Why not just release a wave of federal employees from our bloated bureaucracy? For example, couldn’t the cuts easily be met by getting rid of the salaries of x-number of employees from the GSA, the Labor Dep’t, the Education Dep’t, the Energy Dep’t, etc? Most of these departments are useless anyhow, and surely they have enough non-essential personnel (is that redundant?) which can be cut to meet cost-cutting goals.
And if they got jobs fracking, they could do something productive for a change.
Once they start seeing taxes come OUT of their paychecks, they might be on our side, too.
How much would a one way bus ticket cost? Idiots.

Now wait a minute. If federal immigration laws can be ignored and nothing happens, can't federal gun control laws be ignored, too? If not, why not? If federal laws don't matter, why would people have to obey any of them?

The “they” in my reply was the government bureaucrats that the poster I was responding to, mentioned. Not the “immigrants” I think your post is directed toward.
The “they” in my post was directed at the illegal aliens. We don’t need their encroachment on yet another segment of the economy.

I do agree with you, the jobs we can create with American ingenuity should NOT be available to illegal aliens. I would add Unionists to the list, too. They have single-handedly destroyed productivity in this country, and I see no reason for them to benefit from a productivity resurgance.
Maybe this will backfire on Obama. If there are enough people let loose to adversely affect the lives of citizens in a sudden and noticeable way, maybe they will see the wisdom of tight border control.
They should all be released to save money - on the south side of the Mexican border.

Sure, the press will minimize it, but it is the President's obligation to make good decisions and prioritize. His priority is handing out money for democrat votes. Couldn't care less about anything else. Letting illegal immigrants loose in the streets is a very risky gamble. So much for Big Sis’!
If the other cabinet officials follow in suit and make cuts in ways that directly harm the public (without cutting less critical areas), this could all blow up.

This is like 1980’s Mariel Boatlift when Jimmah Carter announced he’d receive any and all Cubans who made it ashore. Castro emptied the insane asylums and prisons and herded the inmates onto boats headed for our shores to become Jimmah’s problems (or rather Florida’s).
