ABC broadcast edits out Michelle Obama claim that Chicago teen was killed by an ‘automatic weapon’

In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts aired this morning, First Lady Michelle Obama recalled the tragic death of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton who was shot and killed in Chicago after performing during the President’s Inauguration celebration in Washington D.C.

“She was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need,” the First Lady explained. “I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”

It is extremely unlikely that the murder weapon was an automatic handgun, an extremely rare occurrence, even in the streets of Chicago.

For the broadcast, ABC’s Good Morning America producers edited out the First Lady’s “automatic weapon” line.

Yes indeed. The Chicago PD’s study of 2011 Chicago murders shows ONE homicide that year committed with a rifle (any sort of rifle). Seems awfully curious that big City pols and Paris Hilton wannabees like Michelle want to fix attention on “automatics” and gun bans when gangs are the obvious problem.

How do the gangs make money? By trafficking banned commodities. Expanding gun bans expands markets for banned gun, which expands and enriches gangs. Why do I suspect that they know this...(excepting Michelle — evidence suggests low IQ).

Frankly, the U.S. probably could dramatically reduce gun violence much more efficiently by legalizing drugs rather than banning guns.

Quite so - in the same way the murder rate dropped when we legalized the drug alcohol.

So ABC editing her comments might actually be a good thing, since the sheep in the country would otherwise take what Mrs. Obama says as factual.

Which, I suppose is more important long term than documenting the fact that the First Sasquatch is not below "opening her mouth and removing all doubt..."

So whenever anyone says that we must close the “gun show loophole,” ask them if they are nuts or just like to hassle gun shows because doing so will not keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
