Two possibilities:

Either they fell prey to the Beltway, or in light of demographics and public opinion, have just decided to move on to what the pea-brain would view as weightier arguments.

Who knows?

The Bushbots are like a never ending hemorrhoid.

They've been slowly killing the party since 1980.

Where does the Presstitutes get this stuff?

The fact that they get it and report on it is remarkable in itself.

I'll take that.

This is a manufactured news story.

WMAL 105.9 in Washington D.C., in between Rush Limbaugh segments, carried a “news” story declaring [from which wire service??] that “conservatives are supporting a gay marriage initiative.”

The talking head read “conservatives.” Later she read “Republicans.”

David Stockman and any Senator from Maine are hardly Republican leaders.

This is a manufactured story.

You don’t “strengthen the nation as a whole” by ignoring God’s commandments. You put the nation in harms way instead.

Nope. All those votes for gay supporting Mitt didn’t send any message to the GOP at all. Nope. Not a one.

Meg Whitman: Never elected to any office.
Jon Huntsman: Now works for President Obama.
Christine Todd Whitman: Always used her position as a Republican governor to attack conservatives, always supported radically left social positions.
Carlos Guttierez: left-wing crazy outflanked Bill Clinton’s justice department folks to the left.
Ileana Ros_lehtinen: votes far more often with Democrats than Republicans.

None of these people changed their position; the only thing that’s happened in the last ten years to their positions is that they’ve gotten them removed from any power in the GOP.

Which God? There are thousands of them. This is politics.

Politics is God to these people.

Part of the blame can go to those (some even here on FR) who claim to be conservative, yet at the same time say social issues are not really that important. Anyone who thinks gay marriage is no big deal is helping to destroy America as much as any liberal.

Steve Schmidt, who worked on the 2004 Bush re-election effort and as chief strategist on McCain’s 2008 presidential bid, has been a “powerful supporter” of same-sex marriage,

Yeah, that's a powerful name in GOP circles all right. Not. The whole list is also rans and has beens.

However, I will change my registration if the GOP goes over to the dark side. I am out of patience with the PC carp on this issue.

To be fair to Republicans (no one could be more unhappy about the state of this party than I am), these people are not even RINOS. They are liberals pure and simple. The title of this article is just another liberal lie. The people named have not switched; they always supported gay marriage. And as far as the Republican Party is concerned, these people are nobodies.

Look on the bright side. People will have a fit today and wake up tomorrow with all new excuses for supporting the GOP who did this as a double secret strategy to advance conservatism.

They sure got a lot of GOP money in their left moving campaigns though. That sure helped us move rightward.

I dont know what NBC is talking about. Given the names mentioned, ‘conceivable’ in this context is an understatement. ‘Inevitable’ is better.
