Obama’s first sequester move: Releasing “waves” of illegal immigrants from detention centers

C’mon. What's his next move, ordering the Border Patrol to stand down because he supposedly can't afford to pay them? Oh, right. That is his next move.

This makes me more enthusiastic about the sequester, just because now I'm curious to see how derelict he's willing to be in his duties to in the name of putting political pressure on the GOP. Next up: Suspending TSA checkpoints at America's airports, maybe? Where else is he going to find two percent savings in three-plus trillion in spending?

In a highly unusual move, federal immigration officials have released hundreds of detainees from immigration detention centers around the country in an effort to save money as automatic budget cuts loom in Washington, officials said…

The agency, Ms. Christensen added, “is continuing to prosecute their cases in immigration court and, when ordered, will seek their removal from the country.”

Officials did not reveal precisely how many detainees were released or where the releases took place, but immigrants’ advocates around the country have been reporting that hundreds of detainees were freed in numerous locations , including Hudson County, N.J.; Polk County, Texas; Broward County, Fla.; and New Orleans; and from centers in Arizona, Alabama, Georgia and New York.

While immigration officials occasionally free detainees on supervised release, this mass release — so many in such a short span of time — appears to be unprecedented in recent memory, immigration advocates said.

Mark Krikorian calls this the “never let a sequester go to waste” strategy, in which O achieves two goals in one fell swoop — turning up the heat on the GOP to cave on cuts, yes, but also tossing the amnesty fans in his base a bone by reducing border enforcement on the very day that he’s meeting with McCain and Graham at the White House to talk immigration reform. Question for liberals: If he’s suddenly all about penny-pinching in base-pleasing ways, how about getting him to cancel the next year of federal marijuana prosecutions for nonviolent offenders instead? After all, the “waves” of illegals released today will all be legal soon enough. If you’re looking to seize an opportunity for a little emergency cost-cutting social engineering, rolling back the drug war is in more dire need of a jumpstart than immigration.

Via Mediaite, here’s Andrew Napolitano musing about the legal consequences for a president who deliberately seeks to make the federal government perform more poorly than it has to.

An honest media would expose this treasonous fraud for what he is. Hopefully he’ll do something else so blatantly outlandish that even low information voters will be shaken from their stupor.

Reminds me of Castro’s ‘boat lift,’ when he emptied his prisons and insane asylums, putting them all on boats headed for American shores.

There’s truly no rule of law anymore, with this tyrant in office. It should be no wonder that the average joe out here in mid-America is now arming himself to the teeth. This just proves why such actions are warranted, when we have this kind of gangster government at work. No rule of law? Well, an armed citizenry will fill that vacuum, one way or another.

Republicans would never consider doing something like this. Obama is a scumbag.

Here in the commie state of MarxLand we give all our detainees free dental health care before deportation. It was really eye opening how much money we waste on these criminals rather than a bus trip back to the border. Somewhere in our “code of ethics” our state made it against the rules to deport an illegal criminal trespasser if they are not in complete fit of health. It is enough to make one ballistic thinking about all the creative ways our social engineers spend those tax dollars they don’t let us keep.

As much as I despise the Kenyan I doubt any of this was his idea. As devious that they are, this may be an ulterior persecution to inflict upon the tax paying citizens to use as another wedge against those that are holding the Kenyan to his word about slowing the increase of government expenditures..

I wonder if waves of IRS agents will be laid off as a result of the sequester... I’ll celebrate if that happens ( and I can dream can’t I?)

Whoever the House chairman of the committee responsible for oversight ought to be announcing hearings and issuing suppeonas. The person who actually issued the order to release must explain just who ordered him to do so. Doubt it was Obama himself.

Releasing foreign invaders to frighten us into submission?

What’s next, King George? The Hessian mercenaries?

Generally shooting invading armies is cheaper than giving them welfare, shelter, medical care, driver's licenses, food stamps, 0bamaphones, and WIC. It is also cheaper than paying for all the resources to re-arrest them after they run down some citizen in a DUI hit-and-run.

*Added bonus - it serves as a good deterrent and actually give the DHS something other than Bitter Clingers to shoot at with the 1.2 billion rounds of ammo they purchased.

Barack Obama and his Army of leftists are waging war against America. I am beginning to appreciate the south’s motivations back in 1861 and 1865.

When the economic collapse happens it won’t be like the last Great Depression. The country stayed together then because of basic shared values.. This time when economic calamity hits, the country is not going to stay together. States like Texas and Oklahoma and most of the south and Midwest aren’t going to hang around while the NE and California get there act together and quell their rioting socialist chaos. No, those states will bug out via secession.

In a common sense world, this would be called treason. There are more than a million ways to make modest cuts...but he/they choose the ones that will “punish” people the most. There is no need for this and we should not stand for it. Appalling doesn’t begin to describe these appalling tactics. He’s nothing more than a two bit dictator, using the power of office for coercion, extortion and intimidation. HAVE THAT MAN REMOVED.

10,000 illegal aliens set free to commit more crimes against American citizens...

10,000 chances an American will be killed, raped or robbed by one of these illegal aliens before Sequestration Day...

and it will be Obamas fault...

Might as well dump the prisons as well nothing like having the citizens eliminate them one by one!

What’s next? HIV in the water supply of Red States? E-coli put in the food supply?

This is the most shameful display of threats by the US government against its citizens in the history of the country.
