Out On Limb: Matthews's 'Rising Star' Says No Right To Gun Down Classroom Of Kids In Under Minute
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/26/2013 4:18:25 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Chris Matthews featured her as a "rising star," someone who with more seasoning might someday entertain a presidential run. But newly-elected Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane came across as more of a not-ready-for-prime-time-deer-in-the-headlights.

Appearing on today's Hardball, Kane came out with this mind-boggler: "I think the people of Pennsylvania would accept a limit on the amount of clips. You know, I believe and I think a lot of people feel the same way that you don't have a right to go into a classroom and take down a class of children in under a minute." Really going out on a limb there, Kathleen!

She and her ilk can ban all the “clips” they want and none of my standard capacity, 30 round AR “magazines” will be affected. I hope they introduce legislation in those terms so we can laugh about it later. LOL.

Chrissy would prefer that they suffer a longer ordeal. What kind of logic is that? And “rising star?” He has been out there for decades.

Believe it or not, once upon a time, Hissy Chrissy was a half rational and even reasonable guy.

Chrissy and his brother Jim were “good guys” to know in Montgomery County PA republican party circles.

Maybe its the water in DC, or his homo got the better of him, or something. But when he went round the bend, he didn’t half step, he doubled timed.

Unfortunate.

Can we give Philadelphia to NJ at least ?

We’ll lose a lot of history, but if you look around us - You’ll see that these people in the counties that you mentioned aren’t “The cradle of America” kinda folk anymore.

Just move the border inland a bit.

Oh Man,

Give Philly to NJ in a heartbeat. Take some of Del county too. And a little bit of Montco, and some of Bucks. NO, WAIT, MOST of Bux!!

I’ll stop fantasizing now.

Certainly, and we can sweeten the pot. I say we throw in Chester as well ... all for free. Opps, I take that back. That was bad negotiating. The people in NJ are so f'n stupid, that they would pay us for Philadelphia. So for "ONE BILLION DOLLARS" we will give Philadelphia and Chester to NJ.

If we can limit the number of rounds in a firearm magazine, we can limit the number of pages in a Hustler magazine or limit the number of words per day a talking head on television can say. The same specious utilitarian logic that applies to the first case also applies to the other two.

While I think that Hustler is vile filth, and I don’t like some media commentators, I respect the First so much that I cannot start down the slippery slope of that kind of limitation. Either we all have freedom of speech or we do not. But we do, and it is an inalienable right, one that exists outside of and superior to the Constitution itself. So is the right to keep and bear arms.

In the context of free speech, if an edition of Hustler can have 5 pages, it can have 500 pages. Do champions of free speech really want to defend the question of who needs 500 pages of Hustler? No, they would rightly object to the question and the premise behind asking it. What is so hard to understand about a right that “shall not be infringed”?

Man, are you TOUGH!

At least HALF of Chester is full of good people. The other half? SHIP EM OUT!

NJ isn’t allowed any Amish. (I know, Chester Amish are different.)

Hey, Buckwheat,

I love your concept. I like it so much, I’m gonna boost it.

Of course, I’ll give you full credit, but that really is an excellent point you make.

At least HALF of Chester is full of good people. The other half? SHIP EM OUT!

Until I was 12 I lived in Folsom. After that, until I was 18 I lived in Boothwyn. The Chester I remember, and we have to go back to the 1970's/Early 80's was a hellhole. Now, Chester-Upland School District is one of the worst academically performing school in the commonwealth. Crime in Chester is off the charts. The city and the school district are broke and in debt - typical for a Democratic controlled city.

I get the impression that all of the good people in Chester left long ago or are unable to move because they are cowering in their homes in fear.

Geez, I moved away from Boothwyn (Chichester) when I was 18 to go to college and I only occasionally visited until my parents immigrated to FL. Chichester wasn't anything close to Chester, but still a rough place to grow up.

***”I think the people of Pennsylvania would accept a limit on the amount of clips. ****

Let’s see, these people must think that the first ten shots are all misses and people are only killed with the bottom number in a thirty round magazine.

In the first three shots with a 9 mm in Tucson, Gabby Giffords was wounded, another wounded and Judge Roll killed, then others killed and wounded.

Now, if the shooter had used a seven shot .45ACP instead of the 9 MM, the first two would have been killed and Judge Roll still killed, then at least four more probably killed.

If the shooter had used a .357 Mag revolver, the same three would have been killed, then three others probably killed, then he would have dropped his revolver and pulled out his second hidden revolver and piled up more dead.

Magazine capacity limit is just a way to get their anti-gun foot in the door.

It has always been about handguns. Assault rifles are just a decoy to try and get their anti-gun foot in the door.

Once they get a ban on AWs then they will use the same reasons to go after handguns.

John Kennedy killed with a 5 shot bolt action rifle.

Charles Whitman, killed 14, wounded 32 others mostly with a bolt action 6mm hunting rifle. Also used a shotgun and an m1 carbine.

Medgar Evers, shot with a 5 shot 1917 bolt action Enfield rifle.

Martin Luther King, shot with a 4 shot Remington 760 pump action Gamemaster rifle.

Bobby Kennedy with a .22 Iver Johnson Cadet revolver.

George Wallace wounded with a 5 shot Charter Arms .38spl revolver.

Howard Johnsons shooter killed nine, wounded thirteen with a 4 shot RUGER .44 mag Deerslayer rifle.

Gerald Ford attacked with a 7 shot 1911 semi auto.

Edmond OK post office with two National Guard 7 shot 1911 pistols.

Ronald Reagan and Jim Brady with an RG-14 .22 revolver.

What do they all have in common? NONE over 7 rounds, yet after each one came a cry of panic to ban all of them.

“She really is dumb as a box of rocks.”

Well, she is “dumb as a box of rocks”. But no, she didn’t get elected by voter fraud. What does that tell you about your neighbors?

Hey! Aren’t there oil refineries in Chester and Marcus Hook? Don’t want to give THEM up.....IF they’re still there and operating.

I’m beginning to learn, having been away from the state for 20+ years, that I really shouldn’t leave Wayne.

Everywhere I go are dems, fresh from NJ and NY and ready to ruin the countryside, and call the police everytime they see an NRA sticker on a pickup.

Last that I heard was Sunoco was shuttering their oil refineries. They are getting out of the refining business. They were trying to sell the refineries (two of them), but no takers.

I can remember the days when Sun Shipbuilding was shuttered in Chester. I recall stories from my father when he was a kid how they would churn Liberty ships out of Chester in WWII.
