Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim Miller cited religion Tuesday in arguing that an openly gay player would not be welcomed in NFL locker rooms.
There are some religions that are just not going to accept a gay individual in the locker room, Miller told "The McNeil and Spiegel Show" on WSCR-AM 670. So now, are you as an organization going to bring that element into your locker room and think everything is going to be OK?

He could care less? Not couldn't? What a hater.
In ObamAmerica each team will have to certify that it has queer players.....
That "element"... (snicker).
And to think this fool was once a Steeler.
This is all taking me back to 1966 when I headed off to college, a naive lightweight - I wanted to be a Physical Education teacher, or so I thought. I walked into the girl’s locker room during summer orientation, and was shocked at the number of jock women staring me down. Was I jumping to false conclusions? Who knows, but I immediately left the locker room and went to the counselor’s office to change my major.
OK, OK, it’s the caring grammarians now.
“I could care less” may be irony.
Actually, the correct phrase is: "I could care less, but I'd have to be dead".
Creates divisiveness on a football team, and leads to a losing attitude, but is NOT supposed to do so in combat?
What’s wrong with this picture....
If some flaming queer QB threw for 4500 yards in a season and won the Super Bowl, no one would care and everyone in the locker room would manage.
Drug addicts (i.e. pot smokers) want to be seen as simply seeking an alternative reality. Gays and lesbians just want to be seen as normal. Pederasts want to become just the child-friend neighbors next door.
Who can blame them?
And who are their enemies?
Society/culture at large, those who believe in God--any god perhaps.
This is the standard tug of war that has gone on forever. All the way back to ancient Greece and before.
The problem is that this is a war, an ancient war, between the Truth and the LIE.
It's that same old war.
I listened on the radio today as Dick Cheney praised gay marriage because his daughter is gay. Well, okay...that is one way evil gains a foothold.
My son or daughter is gay...I love them, therefore I must approve of their sin.
And this is where the rubber hits the road. This is the razor's edge.
The problem is religion.
The problem is right and wrong.
And in the end, a person must choose.
We must choose right (i.e. God) or we must settle on something less (the love of our children--right or wrong).
If we choose our children (right or wrong), we relinquish our role as leaders--as parents.
We give in to our children even though our children are leading many to sin...to death.
To offer a loved one THE choice (and to tell them the truth about the consequences)...to offer them a chance to choose an eternity of Godliness over an eternity of sin...and to tell them of your disapproval of their path and why. What greater act can a man perform for his children or for God?
But to tell a child that their act of sin is OK...that, in fact, God is wrong.
Wow...I would not want to make that mistake.
Look at all the FReepers who are Steeler fans.
The owner gave so much money to Baraq he got an ambassador post.
And yet, you have a picture of Xena on your profile page. LOL.
and there’s the rub ;o)...I never knew that Xena was a lesbian icon - I rarely saw the show, but I sure do think she is coooool - HAH!
LOL.
There are some religions that are just not going to accept a gay individual in the locker room
This doesn’t even make sense. What is he complaining about? That two guys should have sex in plain view of others? Is that it?
Can’t figure out this brilliant gem...
Go Captains! (Waterford Kettering...Michigan...about 25 miles nw of Detroit...Miller’s high school...also Kirk Gibson and Pat LaFontaine)
Haven’t looked at my profile in a long time - I updated the pics with some new cuties!

BINGO! You can add that the QB is a rapist. FR Steelers fans ignore that glaring fact when one brings it up. Gets their panties in a twist.
freedom of association and freedom of thought is evil, I guess.
*rolls eyes*
The Rams managed to function when they had Roman Gabriel and didn’t even go to the Super Bowl
Awesome!
i cannot believe that football is going to be turned into pink wearing whiny little pc pussies.
everything must be destroyed apparently. well maybe we all won’t waste so much time on things that really aren’t that important in the grand scheme of things.
GAYS have taken over EVERYTHING in our country....EVERYTHING!! It’s DISGUSTING!
Is smoking pot more wrong than drinking alcohol?
That said, alcohol is not particularly innocent.
Bottom line, I have seen pot and alcohol damage the careers, fortunes, and futures of many, but in different ways.
BTW, if you smoke a joint at night, you still be slightly mentally impaired the next day. Your memory won't be quite as good as usual and your motivation will be reduced. Coffee might help but you are still impaired.
A couple of beers will have basically no effect.
I believe that pot has a much more mind altering effect than alcohol
It's not the drug but the dose ... you can get a mild buzz from either drug, or at higher doses you can get wrecked from either drug.

Again, it's not the drug but the dose - drink enough and you'll still be impaired the next morning.
So back to the question: Is smoking pot more wrong than drinking alcohol?
As you know they are different and not easily comparable. Alcohol leaves the body quickly, but THC is oil soluble and remains in fat cells for quite a long time. So it is not just a matter of dosage.
As to which is more wrong, that depends on how they affect the user.
That said, both should be absolute verboten for young people.
When you ask which is “more wrong?” you are asking for a value judgment. So it is important logically that you modify your request to include “in terms of what” is one more wrong than another (i.e. are you asking which is more damaging to one’s health or which (in my opinion) would God consider more or less wrong or which would society consider more or less wrong?).
When it's in fat cells it's not attaching to neuroreceptors, so has no relevance to impairment.
In terms of your post #11's saying of pot but not saying of alcohol, "The problem is right and wrong."
Not true.
THC that has been absorbed by fat cells is released into the blood over time (some of which is reabsorbed into fat cells). That which is released into the blood from fat cells affects those neuroreceptors that bind to THC.
Not true.
THC that has been absorbed by fat cells is released into the blood over time
At which point it's no longer in the fat cells - so my statement is correct.
There is no evidence that this slowly released THC causes any impairment; you might as well worry about getting high from a poppy-seed bagel.
Are you an addict?
I haven't used pot in about 20 years. Why do you ask? And when will you explain why in post #11 you said of pot but not of alcohol, "The problem is right and wrong."
Because you are defensive to the point of argumentativeness.
As to post #11, I was speaking of pot only, not as to its relative comparability to alcohol. You brought up the issue of alcohol.
Ask me an honest question and I will try my best to give my opinion.
As to right and wrong, I was speaking of spiritual right and wrong. The use of any drug, including alcohol, IMHO, would be wrong if it caused or somehow encouraged sinfulness in the life of a believer.
As to your own opinions and value judgments, I leave them to you.
Gotta go now, sorry I can't stay and chat. Have a good one.
So it's true of any drug including alcohol that "The problem is right and wrong" if and only if it causes or somehow encourages sinfulness in the life of a believer? That I can agree with. Can we further agree that both pot and alcohol sometimes but not always cause or encourage sinfulness in the life of a believer?
So if someone argues with you, it justifies slander. So nice to meet you, Jesus.
Wrong Mr Junkie.
Marriage is chiefly a “religious” contract, having little or no other meaning. Government has no business in marriage; it is a violation of the first amendment free exercise clause.
Who is he hating?
I could care less is correct; it’s a sarcastic comment, and being over specific would destroy the sarcasm.
Some are simply not sufficiently cogent to grasp those nuances I guess.
Fixed.
No I didn't.
Nowhere did I say "sins" should be illegal.
I merely said that there is a war (and there always has been) between the forces or good and evil, right and wrong.
As to gay marriage, there are civil unions already available. What the Gay Agenda wants is a declaration by all of society including religion, that sodomy is normal.
Sodomy is not normal or healthy...it is a mental disorder.
“Cognizant” is, I believe, the word which you intended.
