“... Kepto’s we call thieves, and they are, and both are mental illnesses”.
I am going to have to disagree with you on this one, Venturer (as much as that breaks my heart). She stole money.. not trinkets. If she had stolen a chapstick or something like that... perhaps I would agree. I find it somewhat disturbing that so many thieves claim kleptomania as an excuse. A few years back, our PTA co-president embezzled (i.e. stole) about $18,000 from the PTA fund. Wrote out checks, signed other PTA members signatures.. the whole enchilada. Funny but when she was caught, suddenly she claimed she had kleptomania. No, she was a thief. Plain and darn simple. Thankfully, the courts didn’t see her mental illness (especially after learning this was her 3rd time of stealing) and she did prison time. IMHO, this matter should be turned over to law enforcement and the teacher should be charged criminally.
I would look for a gambling problem before I would consider kleptomania, since it appears she only takes cash.
Certainly there is a big difference between embezzlement and Kleptomania.
Hoa much money could this woman have gotten?
Chump change, kids money, I doubt she got enugh to buy her lunch that day.
Still , you could be right.
