Senate GOP ponders ceding power to President Obama (BE CAREFUL, this *IS* Politico)
Politico ^ | By MANU RAJU and DAVID ROGERS

Days before the March 1 deadline, Senate Republicans are circulating a draft bill that would cancel $85 billion in across-the-board spending cuts and instead turn over authority to President Barack Obama to achieve the same level of savings under a plan to be filed by March 8.

The five- page document, which has the tacit support of Senate GOP leaders, represents a remarkable shift for the party. Having railed against Senate Democrats for not passing a budget, Republicans are now proposing that Congress surrender an important piece of its Constitutional “power of the purse” for the last seven months of this fiscal year.

Doesn’t that bring us full-circle back to the Line Item Veto (which was already declared to be unconstitutional by SCOTUS?)

It's a parallel but I can see them massaging the nuances to avoid it.

Dear Lazamataz,

It may not so much be false as reported with a bit of a spin.

The issue between the Kenyan anti-Christ and the Stupid Party is that both want to get rid of the sequester (because the cuts were purposely aimed at things each party didn't really want to cut, to persuade both sides to cut a deal, instead), but the anti-Christ is demanding that it come with increased taxes.

From this report, I gather, the Republicans are saying, look, we'll let YOU decide where to cut the $85 billion. You cut it where you think best. But you gotta do $85 billion in cuts, and you're not getting a penny more in taxes.

Then, whatever gets cut is the choice of the anti-Christ. Anyone who dislikes a specific cut can blame it on the anti-Christ.

Is it a good strategy? I don't know. But it's not quite what Politico is describing.

Sometimes I wonder about the people at Politico if they have any notion of fairness nor honesty in any part of their head.

Most of all I find myself on occasions wondering if they can even consister the contraction in reasons they present to us on a daily basis.

Why on earth would senate republicans ponder ceding budge power to Obama if the problem was not entirely with their democratic counterpart refusal to agree or propose anything at all.

I find in the General reporting of the news, ever more impressive feats of deception by theses organizations all the more impressive in how successfully their half truths are propagating across the population.

It may be that the truth will get out eventually, i am starting to suspect that for most Americans today that will not be until long after it is far too late to do anything about it.

As a party and a movement we are not equipped to battle this evil, nor will they accept any form of surrender as Leftist republicans have proven time and time again.

We must face the fact that nobody will know what we have to say or think unless we ourselves tell them.

RINO’s don’t want to stand for anything so they are falling for EVERYTHING.

Who wants to be in a party run by people like that?

Let the Government shutdown, when the democrats refuses to pass anything. Then maybe you will have accomplished something for once in your life. Stop being the chicken!

We as a population have NOTHING TO GAIN from you chickening out!

“I’m just stating the facts... BILLS HAVE BEEN COMING FROM THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE HAS REFUSED TO BRING IT TO A VOTE... Dumb Ass.”

I’ve heard this, unforutnatly almost nobody else has. and the Democrats get away with lying thou their teeth to the population about it.

I don’t know what we can possibly do with a president that gets a pass lying about on everything.

I don’t know what we can possibly do with a president & party that gets a pass lying about on everything. The facts seem ill-relevant to the people just as our voices seem to be effectively mute.

I do not know how we could possibly build a political case of any kind on anything without either of these tools.

I often wonder why senate republican so desire to have minority status when they reelected dirt-bags like McConnell.

Of course I wonder the same thing regarding House republicans, and John. Both of theses people have proven themselves disastrous leaders, and yet they like the present were reelected.

It seems being a disaster is the key to success in Washington D.C. Its funny how that is not true in any other city.

It's what we've been say for sooooo long: The Republicans DO NOT OPEN THEIR MOUTHS AND GO ON OFFENSE. THEY DO NOT SPEAK UP AND SPEAK OUT AND SPEAK OFTEN ABOUT WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN. THE LEFT SPEWS SH*t AND THE GOP SAYS N-O-T-H-I-NG. THE REPUBLICANS DO NOT STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES EFFECTIVELY AND OFTEN. They come across as cowering, afraid to defend themselves. They are losers. GET RID OF BOEHNER, MCCONNELL, CANTOR, MCCARTHY.

That is the exact way Rush Limbaugh described this latest maneuver by the GOP on Wednesday's program. It could, or could not work in our favor.

Here’s a excerpt from a post I made in 2008 before the usurper was ‘installed’...

[Benjamin Franklin said we have given you a Republic if you can hold on to it. In the midst of the financial ruin, the corruption of our leaders, the endemic voter fraud and the worldwide destruction of the faith in America, we are done. The open abuse of the press has violated the very foundation of Freedom of the Press and is nothing more than a propaganda machine geared towards abject socialism for this country.

President Reagan’s policy destroyed the Soviet Union by crippling their economy and bringing them to their knees, is it unrealistic, to see this is exactly what we are now seeing in America? The only factor missing is who is behind our destruction. Is it the reemergence of the Soviet Union or a combination of many exterior forces including the useful idiots of members of our own Congress? The face behind our destruction and defeat is a shadowy figure that will never be seen until our country is on its knees. The useful idiots will be brushed aside and the face will be revealed for all to see.

I have always been a person who has looked at the glass as being half full, I have taken heart in our small victory’s of revealing political malfeasance in office only to see them remain in power. I have seen the people we have elected and believed in, go to Washington and become nothing more than washed out shell of why we elected them.. I have been naive in believing that our country would always be on the side of right and our that our Constitution would never be abridged. I, naively, believed that if we were on the edge of destruction, true patriots would emerge and fight back and save our nation. I have seen none, they are not there, all we have are politicians with their main goal is self, clutching to their power as a child would of his security blanket.]

Oh, nice ad hominem attack there. You have contributed constructively to the conversaton not.

Congratulations.

I’ve but one thing to say to you.

You aren’t smart enough to see that you are supporting the enmeny, but that’s not surprising, seeing as your stupidity is a necessary ingredient for their success.

We are all going to lose, and yeah, that includes you.

I agree with everything you’ve said...my sentiments and it confirms what I have read.

All the more reason that we (and I wouldn’t call us optimists...just patriots who will fight to regain this country, the Constitution, liberty and freedom, although an optimistic/positive attitude will get you further) must continue to pound away at the politicians and the military, to demand that they do their duty to defend and protect the Constitution, our liberty and freedom...WE THE PEOPLE! And we cannot let up from pounding away. We see no one who is willing to defend us and this country, BUT we do not know what if any plan behind the scenes amongst the politicians/and or military is in the works. So we must inspire others to join us and pound the politicians and military to honor their oath, because failing to do so will have consequences....politicians will NOT get re-elected and/or this country will crash and burn into the ground, and a full blown socialist country will arise under the direction of a dictator.

[BUT we do not know what if any plan behind the scenes amongst the politicians/and or military is in the works...]

I apologize for the lack of optimism but I come from a diminishing population of patriot men and women who remembers what our country once was and watched as it devolved into what it is now.

Along the way, we voiced our opinions and tried to elect people who, we thought, would end this path to destruction of our Republic.

As soon as they arrived in Washington they were ‘reeducated’ to accept the status quo or you will remain just a minor lawmaker with little power to take back home the bacon needed for reelection.

It’s a catch twenty two that lives on and the the weak have found it way too comfortable.
