A toy bb gun was discovered by an employee of Sara's Preschool near school grounds Tuesday morning, according to Ridgewood police.

At roughly 8 a.m., a preschool employee found the bb gun in the woods by the Prospect Street facility. He alertly confiscated the toy gun and stored it for safe keeping until an officer arrived and removed it, according to police.

The bb gun was not loaded and police have not identified its owner, according to Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward.

"There was no evidence of criminal activity," Ward said. "No other weapons were located."

BB guns are certainly something you'd want to keep away from kids. But it seems that the school basically requested a SWAT team and the police sent one.Good God...it's a good thing that it wasn't a lunchbox filled with trans fats that was found.

We are officially a nation of glue-brained scaredy-cats. Such a fast turnaround from WW2, when bravery was normal.

Common sense tells me this is Satire.
Reality tells me it probably isn’t.

We know that the person meant business because there was a back pack with a couple hundred thousand - give or take - BB’s .. Officials are continuing to try and count them BUT if you ever counted BB’s you know the task at hand.
“Golllllleeee” Commented Dep Sheriff Gomer Pyle.
Dep Barney FIFE opined he knows “the feller is up to no good. Sheriff Anj and I both know that all that is necessary is ONE BB at a time and that one should be in your shirt pocket”.

Did they ship the BB Gun off to Quantico to get the DNA?
Is it considered an Assault Weapon?
Was it loaded?
How large was the magazine?
DO YOU REALIZE SOMEONE MAY PUT YOUR/THEIR EYE OUT?
Was some guy named Red Ryder involved?
Was there a girl named Daisy involved?

Oh, my Gawd, the humanity.

Did you know a BB gun has a clip that holds, like 200 rounds????????

I can only wonder how many green, plastic army men the sniper was planning to kill.....

If it keeps one eye from being put out...!
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Which begs the question.

“Should you keep an eye out for something that will put your eye out”?

Like when the ball is hit into the stands and ‘they’ yell
“HEADS UP!”....
Shouldn’t the proper reaction be to put your head DOWN?

OR

When a horse stands on his hind legs it is said he “reared up” when, in actuality his REAR is down....

So many questions, so little time..... <:

Wow! I wonder if the serial numbers were filed off or if they found a cache of unspent ammunition near by. Fingerprints and ballistics should get their investigation going.

When we were kids, my older brother thought it was fun to surprise me and my friends while we were playing basketball, and shoot us in the ass with a BB gun. Just a light sting if one was wearing jeans, but more painful if it got uncovered skin.

He'd be looking at 5-10 years now in our present PC police state!

Good grief! We’ve become a nation of pansies

Our high school in NY would let out on the first day of hunting season. One year we drove up to school with a woodchuck tied to the roof - our only kill for the day - and our rifles sticking out the window. It was so funny we didn't get a deer, and we let the school know.

Today it would have triggered a call to the police and a SWAT squad showing up.

Pansies, woosies we have become.

The gun control crowd wants BB-guns classified as firearms.

I’m not kidding. It’s on the VPC website.

(Yes, they really are coming for your single-shot, bolt action hunting rifle.)
