Gun foes decry 'carnage' from weapons (But admit at Senate hearing 'criminals' pull triggers)

WASHINGTON – Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who once threatened to take out those she perceived as threats with her own gun, today told a congressional hearing, “We cannot allow the carnage … to continue.”

She was speaking on behalf of her own “Assault Weapons” Ban of 2013 before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

She invited several witnesses to testify in support of her proposed gun ban.

Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn testified against allowing citizens to own firearms, saying that “assault weapons are not built for sportsmen.”

He said those are “designed for combat” and must be “restricted.”

Flynn admitted that “numerous innocent Milwaukee citizens [have been] injured or killed by assault weapons and high capacity firearms” that have been in the hands of “career criminals” and “drug dealers.”

But he still believes “a ban on future civilian sales of assault weapons” would help.

When pressed by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on the usage of the AR-15 in shootings, Flynn admitted he could not state with certainty that it is in common usage in shootings, yet he still described it as “dangerous” and supports a “reasonable restriction on the Second Amendment.”

Make preparations, with a comprehensive guide to self-defense, “Armed Response.

Flynn’s own department is facing a number of scandals, including claims reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that his officers illegally conducted rectal searches of victims during traffic stops and the in-custody death of another person.

Under questioning from Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Flynn admitted the number of homicides committed using rifles is “a small percentage,” leaving Graham baffled as to why the government is focusing on banning weapons.

Graham also questioned why Flynn has “failed” to properly pursue convictions when people who failed background checks still acquired firearms. Graham suggested that’s a more central issue than prohibition.

Or, as I like to tell liberals...

“Guns don’t kill people, bullets do.”

Well Flynn, I support a reasonable restriction on the 1st Amendment, so STFU.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,..."

The intention of the 2nd Amendment was specifically about safeguarding the People's right to keep and bear weapons "designed for combat" thus the first clause.

I don't own an assault weapon anyway.
Those were tightly restricted by the National Firearms Act of 1934.

I do own a Tyranny Response Rifle.

Hats off to Senators Grassley and Grahame for forcing out the truth — “assault rifles” are rarely used to commit homicide.

1) The ban proponent’s own witnesses admit that assualt rifles are rarely used in crime; and,
2) The Obama admisnitration’s internal analysis admits a ban on future sales would have little or no impact.

It’s time to demand that Senator Feinstein explain why on Earth any Senator would support the destruction of Constitutionally-protected civil rights to pass a non-solution to a non-problem.

So, if we normalized out all the gang related, minority killing minority, “gun crimes”,

what would we have left? A “gun-crime” free society punctuated by a few mass shootings (that could have been stopped earlier by an armed deterrent).

Rarely is an understatement! Rifle were used in just over 300 out of almost 10,000 murders.
“In 2011, 323 murders were committed with a rifle and 356 with a shotgun, while a staggering 496 were committed with hammers and clubs.”

The number of AR 15’s is probably les that 30.

“It is only when the shooter has to change magazines that the police have the chance to stop e shooter,” she claimed.

Ms. Feinstein is mistaken. It is only when the shooter changes mags that the UNARMED opponent has an opportunity to stop the shooter. The ARMED opponent can stop the shooter with a single well-placed shot.

Swinestein is upset because the obuma feds have told her that they can’t spare any more fascist goons to protect her fat ass. She’s on her own, and she knows that her 70 IQ husband has no interest whatsoever in her survival.

323 out of 10,000 (3.23%) sounds “rare” to me, but I used “rarely” mostly to throw the Milwaukee Police Chief’s word back in their faces. Use of rifles in homicides is hen’s teeth rare in Chicago — In 2011 in Chicago, out of 433 murder victims, ONE was shot with a rifle. That’s 23/100ths of one percent of homicides. Milwaukee doesn’t post type of weapon stats — which tells us something rght there.

With only 323 homicide cases to research, I wish the NRA would document the basic facts of each one (type of rifle used; what sort of “homicide” it was — I bet most are self-defense; etc.). Many rifle models on Feinstein’s ban list have not been used in any crime in the US, ever. That fact ought to be presented in these hearings.

But we need Senators and other leaders to confront Feinstein with the absurdity of what she is asking for. The “news media” certainly will not do it. I am tired of Feinstein, et al, getting away with something that is not only bad policy, but patently moronic.

323 out of 10,000 (3.23%) is “rare” to me, but whatever the word, it is obvious that rifles are not the source of America’s crime problem. In 2011 in Chicago, out of 433 murder victims, ONE was shot with a rifle. That’s 23/100ths of one percent of homicides. Milwaukee doesn’t post type-of-weapon stats...

Do you know if anyone has researched the 323 homicide cases, to ascertain the basic facts of each (type of rifle used; what sort of “homicide” it was; whether the weapon was legally obtianed; whether the shooter was out on parole; etc.). I bet many/most cases are self-defense. Many rifle models on Feinstein’s ban list have not been used in any crime in the US, ever. That fact ought to be documented and presented in these hearings.

I am tired of Feinstein, et al, getting away with a proposal that is not only unconstitutional, but patently absurd. She wants to transform millions of conservative white males into criminals that can be prosecuted and stripped of voting rights.
