I think we should be looking and we should take action.
- Nobody calls weather forecasts stupid.
- Nobody says taking action when tornadoes are near is stupid.
- Smart people on the coast take precautions when Hurricanes approach.
So why not a warning system and precautions for asteroids. Until Feb 15th, I thought the likelihood of an asteroid impact was so small that it was basically movie fodder. But suddenly we've got 1500 injured Russians who prove that the risk is real. Together with Tunguska, that's 2 asteroids just a century apart.

Well, we all know asteroids are caused by global warming...so that would be a good place to start.
