A six-year-old boy who has been told that he cannot use the girls’ restroom at his elementary school is being discriminated against, because he is transgender, an LGBT advocacy group claims in a civil rights complaint, according to a report in a Colorado Springs newspaper, The Gazette.
Coy Mathis’ mother said her son has lived as a girl, including dressing in girls’ clothing, using the girls’ bathroom at school and having teachers refer to her as a girl.
“We socially transitioned her to a girl, which at that age means merely changing pronouns and growing her hair out,” Kathryn Mathis told The Gazette. “No medicines.”
Once Coy was denied access to the girls’ restroom at school, the parents decided on home schooling so Coy would not face “bullying and harassment.” …

I read this and weep, I have no idea how to fit into this world any longer.
These “parents” should be thrown in jail and the child sent to a foster home. This is evil, plain and simple.
I wonder how parents can be so weak that they permit a little boy, still in diapers (when they allowed him to make playing make-believe a permanent choice), to make such a major decision. Having had children who decided to be a dog (or worse - a democrat!), I know that it’s quite easy to lead kids to better choices and let them feel like it is their decision. It may have been the easiest option at the moment when they let it happen, but good parenting is a whole lot less work in the long run than allowing a toddler to make adult decisions, especial bad adult decisions.

I feel the boy. There is a place for bullying and harassment in the world though. In this case, the parents need a good dose to become normal.
I can only guess that the mother wears the pants in the family, and if there is a father he is a sorry excuse of a man. I wouldn't surprise me that the mother is a dike and hates all men.
It is also sick that some teachers supported this entire situation. At least the school administration did the right thing.
This is child abuse. The teachers that supported this should be immediately fired and be banned from teaching ever again.
The teachers union that would support the teachers should be forced to disband.

They are mistaken if they think girls are immune from bullying and harassment. I find the implication that this child is more endangered from boys than girls to be counter productive to their argument.

That's what bullying and harassment is. If fact bullying and harassment is a GOOD thing. If you are being bullied then you are doing something wrong. You are either acting inappropriately or you are not defending for yourself. Either way bullying motivates you to improve yourself.

Not necessarily. A lot of kids are picked on for being short, which isn’t their fault. I compensated by allying with a couple of bigger kids and being a mean SOB until I was about 21. Some compensated with a charismatic personality. Some were just miserable. Agree with your underlying point though.

Second, I think there’s a good chance that Coy sees that Mommy is the one who makes all the decisions in the family, so he wants to be like her, instead of his father, who has become wussified to the nth degree.

I agree 1000%. This is mental illness and people like this not only destroy their own child they INSIST the rest of society go along with their sickness. Its evil. If you think you are not what your DNA says you are then the disorder is in your brain. You treat the mental illness-you dont alter your body/life to match your psychosis. And you sure as Hell dont expect normal people to conform to it. If this kid has a penis he shouldn`t be in a girls bathroom. Even if he doesnt his DNA will forever identify him as a MALE.
