HOUSTON – A man came home Wednesday morning to find three juvenile suspects inside his northwest Houston home, police said.
It happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 5500 block of Bent Bough near Maple Tree.
When Randy Magdeleno entered his home he said he heard voices.
“So I grabbed my rifle and I came around through here in my kitchen,” he said. “It was scary, I didn’t know what I was walking into and hearing people running around inside my house at the same time. I didn’t know if they were carrying weapons around or not.”

He should have grabbed the phone and dialed 911 instead of grabbing a rifle.
It would have been the best thing to do. Those criminals could have grabbed the gun from him and shot him.

I liked that one of the kids father made his kid apologize. It appears that they kids were black (from the news video) which of course race would only be mentioned if it was a white perpetrator on a black person.
They took their chances and this time they came out whole. Next time they won’t be so lucky to get home owner didn’t hesitate to shoot them on the spot out of pure fear.
Sometimes it's really hard to tell a teenager from an adult. Teenagers can be just as, if not more, deadly in some situations.
If it only stops on of the teens from becoming a career criminal it will have a very profound impact on his life.

Because black on white crime is so common it’s not deemed newsworthy and doesn’t push the racist division button like the other way around.
I would answer that by saying that they are idiots but it's because they have an agenda and anything positive being learned from this experience doesn't fit the narrative of the whacked-out gun-nut and the Castle Doctrine.
If you did that here in Jersey you’d be arrested for “brandishing”! And probably sued into poverty by the perps for their “emotional distress”.

I think the home owner did good. Dependent on the caliber and capacity and type of the rifle it might not have been a good idea to try and kill them. It would have also been a terrible trauma for the home owner.
If things started to go bad he always had the option to shoot.
My weapons are of caliber and capacity to be very deadly. I do not know if I would have had the same restraint as the home owner.
